How to maintain Fitness as a mid 40 male?

Try to eat 3-4 hrs before we sleep
8 hours of that 14 hours is sleeping so if you eat 3 hours before bedtime and delay your morning meal by 3 hours thats 3+8+3 = 14 hours which surely is quite manageable.

I do 3+8+5 =16 hours so I have my breakfast/lunch around 11 am in the morning.

Once you get used to the routine it's pretty easy.
 
Prolonged fasting. 48, 72 or 96 hours.

There is no other way.

The greatest lunacy of our times is eating so much more food that we can digest, and believing that three meals a day is mandatory.

I do that every few months.... 72 hours. water and bone broth only.

Some of my soccer khaki who are late 50s tell me they eat Hokkien mee 3 times a week and cockles all no issues. They drink beer 2 times a week no issues.

Should I start weight training or go gym to train?

Weight control is 85% diet, 15% gym.

No sugar, carbs. Go protein, salad, avocado, olive oil.

30min Weights upper body , 30 min cardio like cross trainer. Do something sustainable, pick suitable Weights.

Go for evening walks
 
If you are married, divorce will make you young again. Get rid of the "old furniture" at home and you will feel rejuvenated. And having a young gf will feel like injecting collagen and hyaluronic acid to your body.

I'm not promoting divorce. I'm just pointing out the cause of male ageing. In simple terms, young women make you young, old women make you old. If you understand this psychology, you will choose singlehood and pity those married men who are stuck with a 40+ wife.

Control your diet- sugar / oil / salts
Strictly only eat porridge/ soup at night
No sugary drink, only drink Teo O or kopi O

If I were you, I would start walking more and doing some light exercise.
Patient: "I am here for my medical review. I just retired after working for 40 years."
Doctor: "You need to sell your car and take public transport. In fact, try to walk more. Please eat less meat and more vegetables. It is also better to eat less at hawker centres and restaurants. Have more meals at home. Try not to go out too often."
Patient: "My medical test results must be really bad. What exactly is wrong with me."
Doctor: "You no longer have an income."
 
Diet play a very important role in fitness for people of all age group. In fact a good control diet, helps to go a long way beside keeping us fit and stay healthy as well

Each day you just need to eat enough.
Fasting for 16 hours from your last meal. Next day you start to eat around 12 or 1 in the noon. Maketh your last meal at 7p.m everyday.

Drink kopi orh with Siu dai.
Eating more protein heavy food and lower your carbohydrates intake

All these help. It will help you with your mental alertness and energy level
 
best way to maintain fitness after mid 40s is to every night piak wifey 1 shot before sleep and wake up piak wifey 1 shot before waking up .... confirm whole body will be very fit .... :thumbsup:
