Hong Kong actress draws flak for dress
DID she go too low?
That's the question being bandied about on various internet forums after Hong Kong actress Koni Lui co-hosted TVB's Mr Hong Kong contest in a low cut red gown that revealed an ample amount of cleavage.
The former Miss Hong Kong, 28, donned a sequined red dress with a plunging neckline that reached almost to her naval. It was set off by an elegant necklace with red gemstones, and matching earrings. Her hair was arranged in a classy updo. Bold red lipstick and dark eyeliner completed the look.
Netizens and TV viewers are divided in their opinions over her attire.
Some critics described her gown as a "center door opened wide" or qian men da kai, saying that it was inappropriate, trashy and in poor taste.
Others, however, commented that Koni has the the necessary curves to carry off the dress well. While her dressing may have offended conservative sensibilities, some netizens noted that this would have been no big deal in North America.
