How about clearing away some SAF camps? They're sitting on good land. With about half the population going to be foreigners, it makes no sense to spend so much on NS. And while you're at it, further cut the duration of full-time NS and the number of reservist cycles.

In fact, either scrap NS totally and reduce to max 1 year. No point defending non-Sinkies on this island.

You're playing into the PAP's hands and exacerbating the problem.

1) Convert all the golf courses and SAF areas into residential land...and the roads, malls, schools, public transport get even more congested. Those extra people also need to move about.

2) Make babies? The place will just get more crowded. And there is no guarantee that the PAP govt will restrict the number of incoming foreigners even if you manage to keep your part of the bargain and raise the fertility rate. Also, it will be a miserable place for kids to grow up in.

There is no problem (not enough people) at all, but the PAP govt is twisting the narrative and fooling you into thinking there is a problem; a problem that specifically requires their solution and your co-operation. Don't fall for their trickery.

My suggestion is NOT the same as the PAP's white paper.

1. Freeing up more land from SAF training areas and closing down SAF camps by abolishing NS brings DOWN the price if land and cools the property market for the benefit of locals squeezed by the sky high prices currently.

2. A replacement level rate of local babies by stopping the abortion of 12000 local babies every year is necessary to prevent the extinction of the locals and a take over by foreigners by default.

3. The new satellite HDB estates in the SAF training areas would be self contained with their own amenities like MALLS, Schools, Community hospitals etc. Decentralisation of govt agencies and departments will ensure no need for residents to do cross country travel on a daily basis to other parts of the little red dot. Sinkies from current over congested areas can be relocated there and thereby ease congestion from the older mature estates. Immigration should of course be tightened so as not to undo the de congestion solutions.

SICC will stay. Powerful members and within water catchment areas. May give up one of their courses to another club.

Sentosa also, for the really rich foreigners.

Some of those those at south of changi airport may stay, some will be converted to industrial use.
