Isn't "Qi Shu" supposed to be charge, as in charged by the prosecutors?

You are right. There is a distinct difference between 控告 and 起诉. But this is just some coffeeshop forum, don't worry about that.

However, in common Chinese language, due to long tradition of no distinction of judiciary role and separation power from executive and legislature, 控告 and 起诉 are usually used and understood interchangeably.

Yes, just because it comes from the television doesn't mean it is trash.

I've seen taiwanese variety programmes, documentaries that entertain while at the same time educate the public. It's not trashy kind of information. It can be very practical.

Of course my fav kind of TW progs are those variety shows like zhong yi da ge da featuring chicks, but even those give some snippets into the local culture through creative songs, etc. Very hilarious and lame at times, but not 100% trashy.

You've said it, not 100% trashy, how many % up to your taste and judgment. Anyway, I wasn't talking about Taiwanese documentaries or varieties. I was talking about drama series. If you follow and believe such plot, I really think you need to seek help. Documentaries are alright. However for varieties, Taiwan TV has a penchant of matching incredibly ugly male hosts with incredibly pretty female co-hosts. Can't say I don't envy the Taiwanese men and pity the Taiwanese women.
