Cyrus Jansen is quite an interesting case of a successful influencer who somehow manages to straddle between both the pro-China and pro-US audience. He positions himself as a patriotic American who thinks the world can benefit if China and US work hand in hand. This has not only broadened his subscription base, but also brought him sponsors that in many cases would have avoided small time political commentators for fear of alienating a large sector of the audience who are in the opposing camp.
However while this approach is a good one for him on a business level, it does make his commentaries very repetitive and non-value adding after a while. There's really not much insight to his analysis on current affairs as it's very surface for fear of offending audiences from both camps and his solution to every single issue is always the cookie cutter answer from a Miss Universe pageant - "wish for world peace".
Some might find his positivity on international politics refreshing, but I find it mostly empty sloganeering devoid of substance.
