[h=2]Does the govt know how to improve the future of Singapore?[/h]Posted by temasektimes on August 22, 2012

Seriously speaking, times and again it shows that the government did not do anything to improve the future of our children. For inland transport matter, when it comes to be blamed, just find a scapegoat by calling a COI, after having removed the retailer CEO and now replace her with a SAF soldier to run SMRT.

Basically the same old formula and recipes are used and applied to the system. It’s like selling old wines in a new bottle. How to improve the transport system? Worst, at one hand it claims to look after the benefits of commuters and on the other hand it wants to ensure a minimum return on the capital employed to enrich Temasek Holding’s coffers. How shameful is a government to continue earning monies from its own people.

In regard to other policies, contrary to what they have claimed, nothing seems to have been changed; be they immigration, housing or economics. Take for example the immigration policy, in recent weeks, one of the employment agencies told me he had just helped MNCs successfully applied for a few cases of EPs hiring PRC engineers.

To his surprise, all approved instantly. It is still relatively easy to obtain the EP approval even now. Just download application forms, complete them with the particulars provided by those Ah Tiongs and attach copies of their education certificates either conferred or bought from some Cheena universities which I have not even heard before. Next, more ridiculous, now they have come up with a pay-for-your-whole life housing policy and to make younger generation to foot the expensive housing bills for good.

The pro-capitalist fiscal policies have caused income divide to a considerable extent. Direct tax likes corporation tax at 40% in 1986 has been cut significantly to 17% now. The top individual tax rate has also been cut tremendously over the years. These are all the rich man taxes. To make up the difference, GST was implemented. GST is too broad base. Even a baby uses diaper or drink milk has to pay GST. And poor people will pay more as they spend most of their disposable income without any saving. I find this strange why we are asking the poor to pay and at the same time to spare the rich? Would there be good future for younger generation?

Basically this Government is totally lost. It has made many wrong moves in the past decade and now finds it difficult to rectify or reverse. Except collecting million-dollar paycheck, the Government has run out of ideas in its entirety. We must let the Government know we Singaporeans are tired. We Singaporeans are tired of the tired transport system, we are tired of all these lopsided government policies and we are tired of this inefficient and outdated Government.

It's status quo because the 60.1% decided for you.

Bingo!!!! All these are nothing but a big wayang.

They've already decided how to run the country when they demanded for their obscene pay package. Why should they give a flying fuck about sinkies when they can masterbate to their growing bank account every month? :D
