Originally they planned to have abt 750 of those babies but with the collapse of the Soviet Union, it got withered down further to about 187 and no more. The F-22 represents the pinnacle of US Stealth Technology today and its the most high tech weapon in its conventional arsenal that unfortunately has no equal (or enemies) so far.

Its exclusive to the USAF so far and will still be so unless they field a super duper sixth generation fighter aircraft which we probably will not hear of for at least the next foreseeable 20 years.

In short, its too expensive, too advanced and too early (or late) to be useful to them but they don't mind not sharing it with the rest of the world.

The rest of the world meanwhiles gets its pimped down cousin the F-35 as compensation of sorts.

actually the current technology of F 22 put US at least 40 years ahead of other nation in terms of airforce.

there is no way they are putting it up for sales for allied nation till perhaps 6gen planes starts to appear from Russian side. you spend so much money into coming up this technology leading others in war for practical purpose. it does not make any sense to sell it straightaway

Notice besides the PRC Chinese immigration, practically all immigration from Malaysia and Indonesia are also Chinese.
