Media blow it out of proportion because first reported case was found in a country call ' China'. Had the virus found it way in other countries first particularly in USA, it will be a non issue. Not newsworthy.

I checked the flight bookings on SQ...still expensive and no cheaper. Plus less choices and options of flights too. So where got good deal?

But most of them are the parents of the children. Upon coming home, those school children need to stay home 14 days. Pity those teachers. They have to follow up with their homework everyday.

So China and all parts of Asia/ europe are off limits due to flight cancellations etc.
The only option left for holidays was Australia and New Zealand but they too sealed the borders.

Many countries had no restrictions whatsoever when the school holidays started, like Thailand and Malaysia...
