I read with interest the thread from Russian guy who was working with Barclays. Sadly many of you guys can't tell an insult from a comment or when an intention behind a comment is to insult.
He is not talking about SAF or having a discussion about the army. Which part you guys don't get?
When someone calls your mother a slut, they are not suggesting that she should change her wardrobe and go for grooming class. I am sure you are not going into a discussion about the the quality of grooming companies or the limited fashion range.
The guy is a grad from unknown, unheard or unrated Uni. However like the Indians, they are known to be strong in the pure sciences and they come cheap. Secondly, the Russians have never won a battle let alone a war. They were slaughtered by the Germans until the US stepped in and again by the Afghans who did not have decent uniforms or footwear let alone equipment. The Russian state is rife with corruption, crime is at all time high, their women are the second biggest contributors to exported prostitution after PRC. They are also second to the Philippines for mail order brides. They are also the biggest practitioner and leader in oppressive totalitarian behaviour. The only good thing about Russia is its vast resources. Even the climate sucks.
Barclays has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. Their behaviour is quite shocking. Senior staff, CEO, dishonourable conduct, rate rigging, shredding documents, etc. The business that is so tainted is the business that this clown is with - Investment Banking. They are retrenching big time in this soiled area.
So clearly there is enough material to put him in his proper place. A dog belongs in a kennel, not the master.
So the next time when someone insults you in your own home, don't prove him right by talking gibberish on an irrelevant topic while the insult remains unaddressed.
Ps. We have the NS and the SAF not to be best in the world in soldering. Only a moron who has no other skill set will join the army. We served NS so the Malaysians and Indons don't overrun us. There has be a significant and sizeable deterrence. It is a necessary evil. From my OCT cohort, the only ones that signed were those who had very little to look forward.
One moron even suggested having a professional army, not a conscripted one. Who is going to join? We don't even have enough able bodied people to man essential services that we have bring in foreigners. We obviously can't have an army made up of well paid officers with no soldiers.
So the next time someone insults you, please check with someone if you are unsure.
