China sends ships to islands disputed with Japan: Xinhua

Don't push Japan to the wall. When it retaliates, it will be very painful. The same applies to China. Do not push the Chinese to the wall too. When the Chinese spit, the world will be damned sorry.

Now they are starting to experience 四面楚歌 as countries are starting to claw contested territories away from Japan.
Other than China, Korea, there is always Russia to contend with as well.

Yup the judo competition where russia beat japan in the olympics and was pretty disrespectful to him was suspected to be due to territory claims.

I wonder who listens to the king of idiots.

Okay lah, let you win. However, in my eyes, you are still a brain of m&d. Don't want to argue with you anymore, otherwise, Raiders will need to come in to intervene again.

Aiyah, this kind of sending ships over is only for posturing purpose. Just issue some strong statements and act serious a bit. No battle will take place

Not necessarily ok. During the recent territorial dispute with the Philippines, I happen to be in China and spoke to a few of them. All are very patriotic and are of the same opinion that they must attack the Philippines to teach them a lesson. Don't play play. Anyway, a war in East Asia is long overdue.

This is exactly why Japan is so dangerous.

Today Japan is a shadow of itself 70 years ago. See how badly they managed the nuclear reactors incident during the earthquake and tsunami. Their achievement or rather failure in their space programme is an indication of where they stand technologically and I don't see any reversal of the trend. Their outdated political system, controlled by the power-mongers, won't allow them to.

To embark on any military campaign will be sheer madness. Article 9 drafted into its Constitution by Douglas MacArthur denies them of a standing army. They are only dependent on the USA for defence yes but not attack. Today the US is not such a trusted partner because of their domestic issues.

Now is the time to make friends, not enemies, and explore new markets which they can find all around them in Asia but these were their victims in WWII. It is difficult but they have to do it. Otherwise, the talents they have in their midst will emigrate. They are now living on past money. It cannot last forever.

It has been said by some that the Chinese leaders are not firmly in control of the PLA. In other words, if the military wants to retaliate, no one can stop them.

That is exactly why China is so dangerous. Their leaders may not be able to fully take control in times of a crisis. I was very much surprised that all (about 30 odd people) of those I'd spoken to were in line and favored to attack the Philippines once and for all. They'll never think of the dire consequences as a result. I was in Hangchou during that period and every night, you can hear their military planes flying around in preparation.

but the real question is, will millions die just for some stupid islands??

They don't care. If you've spoken to any China Chinese, they'll all tell you the same: that pride is more important than anything else.

In my course of work previously, I've interacted with the people from Japan, Korea, China, Hongkong and Taiwan (and even Myanmar). They range from Directors level down to shopfloor machinists. Koreans and Chinese are very aggressive people and will confront you on the spot. North-Eastern Chinese are the worst. Japanese will put on an act in front of you, but will stab you from behind. Taiwanese are very pretending. Even if things are not in order, they'll tell you everything is okay, but will talk bad behind your back. However, if you are honest and good to them, they'll really appreciate your work in all sincerity.

They all told me that Sinkies can never be truly successful in China, because Sinkies only go "by the book", which can't really work in China, unless Sinkies will change in their mentality.

Doubt so. PRC chinks and Sinkie chinks both share a common propensity for self-preservation. They'll gladly lose their tails to escape from danger. I have no doubt that chinks would be the only survivors in the event of a nuclear holocaust.

[h=1]China's defense ministry voices protest to Japan over Diaoyu Islands[/h]
BEIJING, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- The armed forces of China are completely opposed to the Japanese government's move to "purchase" the Diaoyu Island and two of its adjacent islands, Chinese Defense Ministry Spokesman Geng Yansheng said Tuesday.
Geng issued a statement on the Japanese government's implementation of so-called "nationalization" of the Diaoyu Islands.
Despite strong opposition from the Chinese side, the Japanese government blatantly announced on Sept. 10 to "purchase" the Diaoyu Island and its affiliated Nan Xiaodao and Bei Xiaodao. This act is a severe infringment of Chinese territorial sovereignty, Geng said.
Geng said the Diaoyu Island and its affiliated islands are China's inherent territory. China has sufficient historical and jurisprudential evidence surrounding this.
Geng said the Japanese government's action and the so-called "island purchase" was totally illegal and invalid.
In the statement, Geng said since the start of the year, the Japanese government has endorsed right wing forces to clamor for the "island purchase" and even move in to "purchasing the islands" by itself. He said this severely harmed the general situation of the development in China-Japan relations.
Geng said in recent years, Japan has expanded armament under various excuses, frequently incurred tension in regional situations and repeatedly stirred up troubles on the issue of the Diaoyu islands. Such moves are worthy of high vigilance by its Asian neighbors and the international community.
"The Chinese government and armed forces stand firm and are unshakeable in its determination and will safeguard sovereignty over the nation's territories," Geng said.
"We are watching closely the evolution of the situation and reserve the right to take reciprocal measures," Geng said.

History proves that Diaoyu Islands belong to China:

History proves that Diaoyu Islands belong to China:

you read any historical documents that proved the islands were under the possession of China before it's integration into Japan? vague maps and statements like Chinese fishermen were fishing there for centuries don't count. a country acquired territory by first discovery.

Question: Since this is the case, why don't they take it to the ICJ for arbitration?

Japan already control the islands. why should they take their chances with the ICJ court.

only those countries who don't control the disputed territories will challenge the other side in the ICJ court. nothing to lose. :D
