China goes around quarreling to diverge attention?

As evidence mounts that China's response to the coronavirus has been as much (if not more) about controlling the narrative than containing the outbreak, hedge fund manager Kyle Bass put CCP mouthpiece Hu Xijin in his place after the Global Times EIC criticized US humanitarian relief as "belated," and suggested that US offers of help are more talk than action.

"You ungrateful bastard," Bass replied in a now-deleted tweet, adding "We should take our supplies and go back home. Let the chinese virus rampage through the ranks of the GT and the rest of the communist party."

Hu then tried to make Bass apologize for 'bringing shame' to the investment community, and said he should apologize to Chinese citizens - including Dr. Li Wenliang, the whistleblower who tried to raise the alarm about the new coronavirus in December, caught the virus, and died last week after many believe he was either tortured, denied care, or worse.

I don't think it is to divert attention. The pressure has reached their eyeballs and I'm sure they're totally embarrassed.Whatever Xi's ambition and aspiration to restore pride in the Chinese people has gone up in smoke somewhat.
What remains to bee seen is the economic fallout from this episode Will there be a rethink by corporations to use China as a manufacturing hub? I'm sure they'll do a cost benefit analysis b4 deciding. If not China, then where? Methinks the bulk will remain as the lure of a huge market is simply too irresistible. I'm sure the authorities will roll out incentives for them to stay.
According to Professor John Nicholls and Singapore's Paul Thambyah (SDP), the corona virus is likely to burn itself out in May,just like SARs.

China should slap a permanent no visa ban on Bass and his firm. No business dealings with that firm too. That will teach him and his firm that angmo are nobodies in the new era.

after this crisis, China's economic slowdown will stay and deepen for a long time. the foreign investment will shrink significantly. the tourism sector will be hardest hit for many years.

How to divert attention? No chance at all. Inevitably all eyes and ears will be fixed on China. It's merely business as usual; including air patrols round a renegade province. Factories will have to re-open soon as China is the World's Factory.

Hu Xijin is the notorious clown editor of the Global Times. Just ignore his barkings, which were done to please his masters and make the brainwashed Tiongs inside the Great Firewall orgasmic.

China new planes are ready to start before Summer serving their own hinterland countryside enough to test their new planes..

If Chinese tourists don't see the world, a lot of angmo countries will be hit. Chinese tourists are big spenders.

Kyle Bass and Jim Chanos are longtime China critic. Don't expect them to say anything positive about China.

Probably not for much longer. Many factories have left, more will leave.
Most will see it as a one off and remain in China. Besides where can the auto industry go? Competitors are sharing the same suppliers. Wasn't that the reason why Toyota shut their plant in Oz becuz just about everyone moved out including their suppliers. What about the motors, generators that uses rare earth? Wouldn't it be more sensible to remain closer to source. Supply chain management can be a little tricky.
At any rate the world economy was already showing signs of slowing down. Let's just wait and see how fast China can get on their feet. Recovery if any will likely be gradual as not many consumers will run out to buy Chinese made goods.
