Crematorium staff fled when the furnace temperature shot up and flame & smoke & temperature rises then firemen came in to rescue but they got smoked up. All that just for a cremation of 440 lb fatty Tua Pui Soh!

【明報專訊】要火葬癡肥遺體無疑是火上加油。奧地利一個火葬場火化癡肥遺體時，因死者的脂肪過多，引發罕見火災，雖幸未釀傷亡，但已令消防員體察箇中危險，急急呼籲﹕應限制火葬者體重！
奧地利南部格拉茨（Graz）一個火葬場近日焚燒一具重逾440磅婦人的遺體時，因屍體內含有大量脂肪，導致焚化爐內的火勢迅即高達300℃。操作員不勝高溫，紛紛被迫丟下工作奔逃。然而他們即使馬上關掉焚化爐，火焰仍從爐裏噴出，湧出的滾滾黑煙不僅瀰漫建築物內，且直向外溢。
消防員滿身黑屑 需戴特製呼吸裝備
消防員其後到場，弄得渾身沾滿煤屎似的油膩膩黑屑，還要戴上特製呼吸裝備以避免吸入油煙。最後不斷從排氣口向爐中噴水，終於控制住火勢，但焚化爐須維修翻新。
消防員事後表示，為免再生類似火警，火葬場職員須拒絕受理過胖遺體。他道﹕「火葬場職員需要更負責任，不要只是機械化地把每具遺體都送去火化。」瑞士已實行把特大體遺送往特別的火葬場，確保能應付大型遺體所產生的超大火。
