Give it another 30 years. singkies will be doing menial jobs in China.
Sinkies can't even do menial jobs in Singapore today unless they're part of the old people's group. For the younger generation, bosses won't hire them because the bosses know that the pay is too low to retain such staff for a useful period of time. Hong Kong and Malaysia, our competitors, for maid supply from indonesia and Philippines pay about twice the salary of Singaporean maid employers.
Hong Konger and Malaysian households are able to pay more than twice what Singaporeans pay for their maids, from the same supplier. This clearly shows that Hong Kong and Malaysia are very much ahead when it comes to their salaries and their purchasing power. Singaporeans have been hiring the lower grade Indonesia and Pinoy maids for the past many years as the better experience and educated maids will obviously prefer to work in Malaysia or Hong Kong instead of Singapore. The Pinoy and Indo government have been asking for higher salaries for their maids here so that salaries here can be on par with Hong Kong and Malaysia and also to keep abreast of the improving economic conditions and salaries in their countries.
Cambodia and Laos are the next frontier for the fascist PAPzis to gather more low wage workers to labour over their own low waged Singaporeans who have been cheated of their pension funds and where low and middle Singaporeans have been sold incredibly overpriced public housing homes for the past 30 years.
Today, a maid in Hong Kong and Malaysia get paid about $700 Singapore dollars a month. In 10 years, these salaries will go up to about $800. The wages for low salaried jobs in Singapore will not improve but will likely stay stagnant as the PAPzis continue importing cheap labour. In twenty years, middle aged Singaporeans will start looking for jobs in Malaysia as maids and other low salaried workers but this is assuming that the Malaysian government allows it.
Malaysia does not allow the millions of Yindians, Pinoys and PRCs to work there but there is a good chance that they will allow Singaporeans to work there for low and middle-income salaried jobs. As far as the PAPzis are concerned, this is a blessing and this will be part of their 10-20 year plan. Since lower and middle income Singaporeans already send their aged parents to Malaysia, it shouldn't be too difficult to imagine that Singaporeans will also work there.
When a fascist political party has been feasting for 50 years, over the salaries of low and middle income earners, you can expect their thirst for easy money and power to increase to the point where there is no such thing as fellow countrymen. There is only comrades and rich relatives and friends and this is what they have been living in for the past many years.
The next 20-year plan for the PAPzis is to continue to fill Singapore with more rich people who do not need to pay estate duties and pay little taxes, to force out economically challenged Singaporeans into Malaysia, and continue to import cheaper labour from anywhere their greedy hands are able to hold on to. If you think this is too far fetched then why do you think the PAPzis are not worried that HDB prices have reached million dollar prices? Their own propaganda machinery celebrates such announcements. The PAPzis have also invested heavily in developments in Johore which will allow for an escape route for low class Singaporeans to go to when they realise that they children here are no longer able to afford to own a home. Cheap labour from China, Yindia and Pinoylan will continue to land here since their governments have been assured of jobs for their nationals from the various trade agreements that the PAPzis have signed. Expect more cheap or cheaper labour as Burmese and Cambodians join the labour force here.
When you vote for a fascist government for 50 years you should know the price you will have to pay.
