SAF Apache helicopter crash-lands in Woodlands field, sends tail flying 50m away

STOMPer Quintus was driving past an open field in a residential area in Woodlands Avenue 12 when he saw this SAF Apache helicopter crash landing into the field, sending its tail flying about 50 metres away.

Said the STOMPer:

"I saw the helicopter circling in the air, coming down rapidly, before crash landing into the field.

"There was no one else on the field.

"The two pilots later got out of the helicopter and I saw them standing around."

Another STOMPer, Roger, received photos of the fallen Apache via MMS.

He said: "My friend was driving in the area when he saw the crash, so he sent the photos to me."

STOMP is contacting Mindef for comment.

As what I can see its a double engine failure, auto rotation and a hard landing. Somethings wrong, the Apache is meant to survive an autorotation. Either that or pilot technique and flaring was all wrong air speed to high and they hit to hard and the tail broke off.

Got collateral damage already.. just now i was on Woodlands Ave 12, got one Super 4 biker on the opposite side kena distracted and bang one taxi on the backside. Got ambulance and all that.

At first I thought it was a movie shoot, until I saw the Riot police.
