The concept of "international law" was commendable when it was first mooted after WW2 but over the years it morphed into a system whereby rogue 3rd world states used the resulting gridlock to offend with impunity while international law tied the hands of the good guys who had the power to set things right but were unable to act "lawfully" to right the wrongs of the world.

Those of you who have benefited from the law and order and stability that Singapore provides should be thankful that the country has refused to ratify key international treaties the most obvious example being Detention without Trial. Had Singapore bought into this noble concept it would have been next to impossible for LKY to deal with the scourge of entrenched secret societies and radical political opponents.

I saw the video. I saw a woman in a car being told to get out of the car, and she did not. I saw her being told to stop but she instead she moved the car. Our Navy under instructions of Goh Keng Swee, then Defence minister, towed their boats back out to sea. We don't know how many died because of this act. Of course, these are the Vietnamese boat people. All of them were Ethnic chinese, many wealthy and professional and skilled, but kicked out of Vietnam because of their war with China.

Now ask yourself this question. If Singapore had actually taken in these boat people instead of turning them away, where would we be today? You could be right but we will never know. I doubt many Viets would have stayed on in Singapore even if they had been granted residency. I have said "PAP is the best" more times than you can count.

She was backing up, then saw the agent in front of her car so slammed it into forward gear to run him down. She deserves her fate. Serves her right. I hope other Karens take note and stay way from ICE operations all they'll suffer the same fate.
