KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 — PAS reiterated the support of all 18 of its elected members of the Dewan Rakyat for Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as the prime minister.

In a statement today, PAS secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan stated that PAS was not in any way affected by the “rhetoric” of PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who had announced last month that he had ostensibly secured majority support in the Dewan Rakyat.

“PAS would like to stress that all of its 18 members of Parliament fully support Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as the prime minister of Malaysia who is leading the incumbent Perikatan Nasional (PN) government.

“PAS is not in any way affected by the rhetoric of Port Dickson MP, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, that he has gained majority support in the Dewan Rakyat,” said Takiyuddin.

He called Anwar’s announcement a desperate attempt hinged on personal interest and ambition.

He also accused Anwar of attempting to take advantage of a difficult situation when the PN administration is working to contain the Covid-19 outbreak in Malaysia as well as boost economic recovery.

Takiyuddin stated that PAS is confident that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong will not entertain Anwar’s attempt to remove the PN administration.

“In this regard, PAS is confident once more that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong will not entertain the actions of such ‘desperados’, instead His Majesty will weigh the matter based on the law and the nation’s Constitution.

“PAS also hopes that the government will take stern legal action against any party that creates uneasiness and confusion among the rakyat while potentially jeopardising the nation’s economic recovery,” he said.

On September 23, Anwar announced that he had enough support in the Dewan Rakyat, effectively ending the PN administration led by Muhyiddin.

However, Anwar did not divulge the number of MPs or who they were, instead stating that the the Agong should be the first to be briefed on the matter.

On October 8, Anwar issued a statement to thank the Yang di-Pertuan Agong for granting him an audience this Tuesday (October 13), saying that he would furnish proof of the ‘‘strong, convincing” majority of MPs backing him.

PAS Youth threatens mass protests if Anwar’s majority support claim turns out to be mere rhetoric | Malay Mail

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 — PAS Youth has said it will follow closely the developments of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on Tuesday, to see if he truly has the majority support in Parliament as previously claimed.
The Islamist party’s Youth wing said that should Anwar’s claim prove to be mere “rhetoric”, it would not hesitate to hold protests nationwide to highlight behaviour it deems insulting to the royal institution as well as disruptive to the nation’s harmony.
“We strongly condemn the political situation in which dirty tactics are used to entangle the royal institution for the self-interest of greedy and power-hungry individuals,” PAS Youth said in a statement.
In its view, Anwar’s decision to seek an audience with the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong for royal assent to form a new government is deplorable and appears to be seditious in nature.
“It appears as though the decision of the Agong in approving Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is being challenged, making it seem as though he no longer has the confidence of the majority of MPs to form a government, as per the Constitution.
“Do leaders wish for a repeat of the events early this year, where the Agong had to call every MP individually to determine who they support, after the attempt to get statutory declarations fell through?” PAS Youth said.
The statement added that it seems as though some leaders want to school the palace on how the country should be run, when in fact the royal institution should not be taken lightly or treated with impudence.
“PAS Youth calls upon all political leaders from the government to continue supporting Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin until the 15th general election, so as to uphold the rakyat’s agenda and the effort to combat Covid-19,” said the wing.
Earlier on September 23, Anwar said he already received royal assent for an audience but was forced to postpone it as His Majesty was being treated at the National Heart Institute at the time.
Subsequently, on Thursday, Anwar confirmed the audience will take place on October 13, where he will explain his support is strong enough to form a new coalition and establish a new federal government.

DAP has 40 seats, 20% of parliament. they should stay relevant, not be ignored. Sabah and Sarawak how many seats ? siding with whom ?
But DAP have always been non relevant to Malaysian politics as such ..who were the DAP ? It was formed by our very ex president Devan Nair as Trojan horse for PAP ? Because there was a tacit agreement after separation that each will not interfere in other politics .. but LKY being a lawyer circumvented it by entering the Malaysian politics by forming DAP ...but the Malaysian chinks themselves totally rejected DAP as only Devan got elected in their election , likewise Malays in Sinkie too rejected the Malay party backed by UMNO

till than , peace was the chinks and Malays voted in both sides of the causeway , but this is the peace PAP and UMNO do not want , and racial riots were instigated on both sides

than entered Lim Kit Siang as the DAP spokes person , and who is this fucking fella ? He was a China born , and how many knew that ? But fighting for Malaysia for Malaysians ????...and how many here actually know that was LKY slogan ? Because that was the slogan LKY used wanting to be a Malaysia PM since he was not interested in just as a PM for a tiny little red dot ...and Guess who dashed LKY dream ?It was non other than the MCA , who don’t want two tigers in one mountain ...but since LKY was gunning for chinese votes both in Malusia and Sinkieland , he resorted to find fault with the Bumi policy than the jiu Hu kias chinks who rejected him

so , the birth of the DAP becomes quite clear now .,,,now to the present situation , the Malays in Malaysia previously stood as one backing the UMNO , but that vote bank started breaking apart by Anwar and emergence of PAS and further by Dr Ms only Malay party ..here is where the jiu Hu kia chinks saw the opportunity to become the king maker since they cannot become a king in majority Malay land ...thus the strategy of the entire chinks clicking together to vote DAP , mind you in the past the chink voters care two hoots for DAP even in a situation where the DAPs ideology have remained the same till today ,so muc so even LIm Ki Siang and Karpal Singh have lost their deposits in the pastbGE , but now the DAP became the largest political party in Bolehland ..quite akin to the May 13 scenario of the past and DAP too behaved quite similar as in May 13 raising racial and religious issues such as celebrating Chin Pengs death ceremoniously, which increased racial tension to boiling point

But say what you like about the m&ds , in politics they are masters ...unlike the jiu Hu kia chinks , within a span of just one year the entire DAP is now driven down to nothing , and my bets are in the next GE in bolehland , DAP will bite the dust chinks are a pragmatic lot who won’t vote for losers

Malaysia has reversed a pledge to ratify a UN convention against racial discrimination, following a backlash from groups who fear it could dilute privileges for majority ethnic Malays.

Leaders of Islamist party PAS, former ruling party UMNO and conservative groups planned a rally next month against the convention, which they fear could strip away Malay privileges and threaten Islam's position as the official religion.

The government will not ratify the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD), the office of Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said in a statement, without giving a reason for the decision.

Mahathir's ruling coalition has struggled to woo ethnic Malays after its spectacular election win in May on the back of overwhelming support from minority ethnic Chinese and Indian voters.

"The government will continue to uphold the federal constitution, which enshrines the social contract agreed by representatives of all races," it said in the statement.

Malaysia's 'social contract' was a pact made by the leaders of its Malay and minority Chinese and Indian ethnic groups regarding their rights and privileges as citizens, prior to independence from colonial ruler Britain in 1957.

The country adopted an affirmative action policy that benefits the Malays, who form 60 per cent of a population of about 32 million, after deadly race riots in the late 1960s.

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 12 — The police have confirmed they will be calling in PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to record his statement, following the lodging of a police report after a list of 12 Umno MPs who purportedly support him as the next prime minister was leaked to the public.
Criminal Investigation Department director CP Datuk Huzir Mohamed said the investigation began after Jerantut MP Datuk Ahmad Nazlan Idris lodged a police report on Friday over the matter.
“It is being looked into under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code with the intent to cause fear and alarm to the public, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for the sharing of offensive or menacing content,” he said in a statement.
Huzir said a total of six police reports have since been lodged, and that Anwar was initially meant to present himself to Bukit Aman at 11am today to have his statement recorded.
“However, his private secretary said Datuk Seri Anwar will only be able to come tomorrow, October 13, at 9am.
“To this, the police have postponed the meeting to another date which will be announced in the near future,” he said.
Huzir reminded the public to not be taken in by such news, and to not share unverified information.
“The police will not hesitate to take action against those who have been found to spread fake news or unverified information to confuse the public,” he said.
Ahmad Nazlan’s police report on Friday was to categorically deny his endorsement of any statutory declaration in support of Anwar as the next prime minister.
Since then, several other Umno MPs have also filed police reports, such as Arau MP Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim through his aide as he is observing Covid-19 self-quarantine at home.
Anwar and Pandan MP Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail are expected to attend an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong tomorrow, where Anwar is expected to convince His Majesty that he has enough support from MPs in the Dewan Rakyat to form a new government, thereby ousting the Perikatan Nasional government under Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

KUALA LUMPURR, Oct 12 — PKR secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has called on Malaysians and members of his party to remain calm ahead of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah’s audience with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Istana Negara tomorrow.
In a statement today, Saifuddin instructed all PKR members “to not hold any gathering or to gather in any location, especially along major roads, towards Istana Negara”.
“I also call upon all Malaysians to keep calm as this audience session takes place, and to remain calm for any subsequent process that takes place thereafter,” he added in his statement.
Saifuddin also reminded all PKR members of Parliament to continue to render their services in their respective constituencies, as well as to prioritise the people’s welfare during this Covid-19 pandemic.
His statement comes on the eve of Anwar’s audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, where the PKR president is expected to provide proof of the “strong, convincing” majority of MPs said to be backing him in his bid to unseat the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government.
