Now $7500. Whenever there is a price dip, volumn goes up. There are still people looking for "opportunities"!

I think it may go to $5000. Or even lower!

What's the "real" value of bitcoin? Nothing? Ok; our fiat money too has no "real" worth, but we have the promise of the government - governments generally don't go bankrupt. That's what those bitcoin fools cannot see; they keep chanting - just as those Red Guards did their chanting in communist China - "No one can control bitcoin!"

I have a guess. There is some truth that the Chinese may be the worlds "greatest" gamblers.Ok. Many would say gambling is all over the world - the US president is the head of a gambling cartel! But wait!

I recently watch a Chinese documetntary/talk about gambling. Some Chinese emperors - including a Qing emperor - were infuriated by the gambling habits of the Chinese and even used harsh penalty of cutting off the hands that gambled. That really showed the Chinese genes are "especial". Remember, the Japanese too are "especial" - their scientists discovered God designed the Japanese guts very differently that only the Japanese rice best suits them!

I am Chinese. My guess is religion. I am sure Confucianism is surely 100% against gambling, but there is Buddhism which may be silent on gambling - they forgive the gamblers! Taoism - anything goes! Christianity is the fundamental religion in the west and well embraced in the western world. Somehow I think there are more conservatives families there against gambling.

even commie chinks realize gambling is a way of life among far east asiatics and now hainan island is being designated as next gambling/casino hub. right now in vegas, all major casinos are prepping their decor and facade for the upcumming cny. not only is the city painted in red for valentine’s but also fully decorated with year of the dog motiffs for cny. vegas is welcumming the chinks, viets, japs, gooks, pinoys and overseas chink tourists for the big cny bash 2nd week of feb. if you keep a tab on where new casinos are cumming up, you can find them in these asian cuntries ( it’s not just a chink trait): south korea, japan, failippines. take away vice and gambling and their societies implode.

i see that most pple have under estimated the value of bitcoin. as i am typing this, bitcoin value at USD7036.1 BTC/USD.
i'd think that it is a good time to get in soon.
the value of bitcoin is in its future and not now.
years to come, many developed countries will experience high inflation and this is where bitcoin can be used as an hedging tool against inflation.
my advice is not to trade in bitcoin but rather invest for long term, and that is precisely when all the bad news on how shady pple uses bitcoin has subsided, etc.

OK! I am Muslim and there is an advice : "Do not engage in dispute".

I'll just say I have a very different opinion. That the ones who started bitcoin and the blockchain are really smart people; smart in knowing their cryptography etc. But bitcoins and all crypto currencies are scams - my opinion as well as some here who have expressed themselves. There is nothing to invest in any long-term global scam. From what I see none of my family and close relatives are even aware yet of bitcoin - it's good. The people who are promoting bitcoins are up to nothing but to profit from the fools who follow. Caveat - only an opinion!

Initially, I too was taken up by the blockchain technology, etc. but on closer examination, even blockchain may just be a fad. Not every human invention will have a used, even if it seems ingenious.

In this world, sometimes people have to choose to believe - whose words to believe as we cannot be an expert in every field.

Hey $6969 today

BItcoin is down 8.2 per cent, or 579 points, at $6521.

The cryptocurrency plunged 17.1 per cent on Monday, joining in a general market rout that has seen stocks fall sharply around the globe.

What a joke! bitcoin now $6000.:(

BTW, there is now a prestigious institution - the CME - quoting bitcoin futures. But what futures when spot prices are quoted by crooks and charlatans.
