Fully agree with Sam...once a Traffic Police told us to cycle 2 abreast at Tampines Ave 10!
agree absolutely, if only they'd keep closest to the kerb and not cause a hindrance to motorists - follow the 2 abreast rule in a b-to-b system would be one way to be close and bunched-up together, then everyone would be happier unless a kind truck driver takes them out together

SHOCKING dashcam footage has been released of the moment a Victorian man rammed his 4WD into a cyclist before getting out of his car to scream at him.
The clip was posted to YouTube on Saturday but was actually taken during an incident that occurred in November last year.
According to the YouTube user, “the owner of the video only decided to post it” over the weekend.

The video, titled “A cowards attack on a vulnerable road user”, shows a man pedalling in the cyclist lane, beside a 4WD on a suburban street in broad daylight.
About 10-seconds into the clip, the 4WD swerves deliberately to the left, hitting the innocent cyclist and sending him flying off his bike and on to the pavement.

Seemingly in shock, the cyclist stands up, checks his pockets and starts feeling his shoulder for injuries.
But by this time, the motorist has already pulled over and is stalking over to the cyclist, yelling and jabbing his finger towards him.

The clip was accompanied by a caption condemning the motorist’s actions.
“There is nothing that can justify this type of driving, even though it is nearly a year old, it is still a shocking insight (into) those that road rage,” the caption read.
“There is no reason, no law … that could possibly justify the actions of this driver.”
It is understood that the driver was charged by police with Reckless Driving Causing Injury and fined $1000.
The clip has been seen more than 10,600 times, with people furious that the motorist got off with such a lenient penalty.
“Driver should have been jailed for assault with a deadly weapon. Never to have a license again on release,” Geoff Semon wrote.
Another user, named Stewart, wrote that charge did not suit the attack.
“If instead he had been charged with assault (and assault with a deadly weapon) then the punishment could have been much greater,” Stewart said.
“Given that this occurred late last year, it is overwhelmingly likely (that) Mr Road Rage is back behind the wheel already”.

Actually it is the motorists that are a hinderance to cyclists.

Motorists make cycling dangerous. Motorists are also the cause of traffic jams and over a hundred deaths every year. I know of no other entity where such a large number of deaths are simply considered an acceptable norm.

Imagine if more than 100 Singaporeans per year died in hospitals because of medical misadventures or when traveling by air. There'd be a huge public outcry.

In the meantime automobiles regularly mow down the weak, the innocent and the undeserving and nothing is done to curb the use of this death machine. It's crazy!

Example of death caused by errant motorists. If the driver had been riding a bicycle instead this death and carnage would not have occurred.

Another example of a motorist causing mayhem. A cyclist would never be able to cause this sort of carnage!

Yet more death and destruction caused by..... drum roll....... MOTORISTS!!!!!

If all those drivers had been riding BICYCLES instead none of this would have happened!

If this video does not prove that it is motorists that are the cause of Singapore's road carnage then nothing else will.

First of all an idiot that does not understand that wet roads have less traction than dry surfaces starts the chain of events.

Then, when the police and ambulance arrive to clear the mess another driver ploughs into the police and ambulance crew seemingly without a care in the world.

What's the point of a whole host of rules and regulations for relatively harmless PMDs when automobiles are clearly the source of 99% of Singapore's road kill.

A Traffic Police officer and a paramedic attending to accidents were injured on Sunday after another car skidded while they were at the scene.
Six other people were also injured and all were taken to hospital.

A police statement on Sunday said the first accident involving two cars and a tipper truck took place at about 11.15am along the Pan-Island Expressway towards the direction of Changi Airport, before the Bukit Timah Expressway exit.

Two motorcyclists also skidded at the location in separate accidents, the police said.

After the Traffic Police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) arrived at the accident scene, a third car skidded.

The car hit a 30-year-old Traffic Police officer and a 26-year-old SCDF paramedic, who were attending to the earlier accidents, as well as the two motorcyclists, aged 35 and 37, who were moving their bikes away to avoid obstructing traffic.

Four people aged between 25 and 69, who were involved in the accident between the tipper truck and two cars, were also indirectly injured by the impact.

All those taken to hospital were conscious, police said.

The 44-year-old driver of the third car has been arrested for a rash act causing grievous hurt.

Chinese-language newspaper Shin Min Daily News said the accidents resulted in a serious traffic jam, with cars backed up for 3km.

In the first accident, a silver car lost control and crashed into the tipper truck before slamming into a seven-seater multi-purpose vehicle, Shin Min reported.

While the cops are busy harassing harmless PMD users and stealing their personal possessions for minor infringements hundreds of thousands of half blind drivers with no brains, no skills and absolutely no clue as to how to drive safely are allowed to be in charge of tons of lethal metal capable of being driven at well over 100kph.
