Bad Attitude of Dr Gary Kang of Sengkang polyclinic!!

How should my friend handle these ppl then?
Quite hard for me to provide advice when I doesn't know the full details of the storlee.
We need to be very detail and with a clear mind in order to win an argument face 2 face.

Usually I will workout a flow chart before I beat healthcare workers to puppy.

For complex case, I will need to write it down and brain storm it myself before I launch my nuke.

For moderate to simple case, I do a in mind quick flow chart.

If I'm not confident on winning the case, I will not launch the attack. So each time I launch it, each time will be a success.

What I mean by success?
It means the opponent will have nothing to defend and become a puppy.

Some of them just run away while some will make apology. While some were apology made by another person as a leepresentative.

She is a friend. What do you all suggest?

i seek some ai help , based on details given by u , i hope the following helps , have a good night rest , if got more info just drop in again :

Gemini ai got some quite good pointers :

This is a deeply distressing situation for your friend, and it's understandable that she feels humiliated and unjustly treated.

In Singapore, patients do have rights, and there are avenues to address such concerns. While completely "erasing" records can be complex due to healthcare regulations, the focus should be on formal complaints, seeking proper investigation, and potentially restricting future access to certain aspects of the record.

Here's a breakdown of the recourse available and the steps your friend can consider:
Understanding Patient Rights in Singapore
Patients in Singapore have rights, including:

* Right to be treated with dignity and respect: This includes polite communication and professional conduct from healthcare staff.
* Right to privacy and confidentiality: While healthcare staff have access to records for care, derogatory or biased remarks are unprofessional.
* Right to safe and competent care: This implies that care should not be compromised due to personal biases.
* Right to provide feedback and make complaints: Healthcare institutions are expected to have channels for this.

The actions described (intimidating letter, raising voice, alleged "blacklist," threatening remarks by staff, security involvement, accusations of shouting) appear to be a serious breach of professional conduct and patient rights.

Recourse for Your Friend in Singapore
Here's a step-by-step approach your friend can take:

1. Document Everything Meticulously:
This is the absolute most crucial step. Your friend needs to gather all possible evidence:

* Dates and times: Of every incident, phone call, and interaction.
* Names of staff involved: Dr. Gary Kang, Christine Tan, any other staff members (including the one who mentioned "blacklist"), and security officers.
* Specific details of conversations: What was said, by whom, and in what tone. Quote verbatim as much as possible.
* Copies of the letter: The intimidating letter from Dr. Kang.
* Any other correspondence: Emails, messages, or notes.
* Witnesses: You were present for some calls; your statement would be valuable.

2. Lodge a Formal Complaint with the Polyclinic/Healthcare Group:

This is the first official step. Polyclinics in Singapore are typically part of larger healthcare clusters (like SingHealth Polyclinics, National Healthcare Group Polyclinics, or National University Polyclinics).

* Identify the correct cluster: Sengkang Polyclinic is part of the SingHealth Polyclinics group.
* Use their official feedback channels: Most polyclinics have online feedback forms, email addresses, or phone numbers for complaints. Your friend should write a detailed, factual letter or email outlining all incidents, supported by her documentation.

* Be clear about what she seeks:
* An official apology for the disrespectful and threatening treatment.
* A formal investigation into the conduct of Dr. Gary Kang and Christine Tan.
* A review and potential redaction or removal of prejudiced remarks from her medical records. (More on this below).
* Assurance that she will not be discriminated against in future care at any public healthcare institution.
* Request a written response and a meeting: Ask for the outcome of their investigation in writing. If they offer a meeting, consider bringing you along as a witness/support.
3. Elevate the Complaint (If Unsatisfied with Polyclinic's Response):

If the polyclinic's response is unsatisfactory or no adequate action is taken, your friend can escalate to higher authorities:

* Ministry of Health (MOH): MOH is the overarching regulator of healthcare in Singapore. They have a feedback portal on their website. This is a crucial step for systemic issues or if the polyclinic's internal process fails.

* Singapore Medical Council (SMC): The SMC is the professional body that regulates doctors in Singapore. If the complaint specifically relates to a doctor's professional misconduct (like Dr. Gary Kang's letter or alleged threat from Christine Tan if she is also a regulated professional), a formal complaint can be lodged with the SMC. They investigate breaches of professional ethics and conduct.

* Healthcare Mediation Scheme (HMS) / Small Case Mediation Scheme (SCMS): Administered by MOH Holdings, these schemes promote mediation to resolve disputes between patients and healthcare institutions regarding service quality, medical care, or management. This could be an avenue if the polyclinic is willing to mediate.

4. Addressing the "Prejudice on Online Record" (National Electronic Health Record - NEHR):
This is a critical and sensitive point. Singapore uses the National Electronic Health Record (NEHR), which allows healthcare professionals to access a patient's summary health records across different public healthcare institutions for continuity of care.

* Can prejudiced remarks be "erased"? Directly "erasing" entries from medical records is generally not allowed, as medical records are legal documents that must accurately reflect a patient's care journey. However, there are mechanisms to address inaccurate or inappropriate entries.

* Formal Correction/Annotation: If specific entries in her record are demonstrably false, biased, or inappropriate, she can formally request for them to be corrected or an annotation/addendum to be made to provide her perspective. This doesn't delete the original entry but provides a factual counterpoint. This should be a key demand in her complaint to the polyclinic and MOH.

* Restricting NEHR Access: Your friend has the right to opt out or restrict access to her NEHR records. This means healthcare professionals will be blocked from viewing her records.

* Implications: While this protects her privacy, it also means future doctors may not have a complete picture of her medical history, which could potentially impact continuity of care in an emergency. She should be fully counselled on these implications.

* How to do it: She can approach any public healthcare institution's department to opt-out. They will explain the process and implications.

* This does not "erase" past entries but prevents future viewing by most healthcare staff. If a healthcare professional inappropriately overrides access restrictions, they could face legal and disciplinary action.

5. Seeking Legal Advice:

If the issues are severe, cause significant distress, or lead to a clear denial of necessary care, consulting a lawyer specializing in medical law in Singapore might be advisable. They can assess the strength of the case and guide on potential legal actions, though this is usually a last resort due to costs and complexity.

Important Considerations for Your Friend:

* Stay Calm and Factual: When making complaints, it's crucial to remain calm, objective, and present facts clearly, without emotional language.
* Persistence: Dealing with bureaucratic processes can be frustrating. Your friend might need to be persistent in following up.
* Support System: Having you and other friends/family as a support system is vital throughout this stressful process. You can help her with documentation, accompany her to meetings, and provide emotional support.

The intimidation tactic (the letter with many stamps) and the alleged "blacklist" comment are particularly concerning. These actions could be seen as harassment and professional misconduct.

Your friend has a legitimate right to seek redress and ensure her medical records accurately reflect her health, not the biases of staff.

I have fully observed that becos of their rights, they can start to be "lazy".
And being lazy can surface in many different forms.

They put up the posters everywhere in the vicinity.
If they doesn't have a problem with themselves, why they fear in the first place.
Or do they mean the patients or the world is always wrong while they are always right.
Or becos the patient need their services, so they have the right to do this.
They are very defensive and protective of their own kind. I have seen before one patient who is loud cos unwell (not my friend) at a hospital who got confronted by a huge horde of over 7 or 8 staff all in a menacing way.

From my observations, places where real issues happen before will have more than usual so called anti abuse messages pasted all over. Like SKH physio exercise centre where I have been to before for my hip injury issue.

Any questions on the anti abuse posters even innocent ones like Wah so many anti abuse posters will get very negative reaction from the SKH physio team there

One bad egg to some of these bad healthcare workers means the rest of the basket are all rotten / hence they do not hesitate to use it on ANYONE.

Noted with thanks

I doesn't go to singhealth polyclinic or else I could Verleefy for you.
I'm a veteran dealing with this kind of thing.
When i see any health worker being too much overboard , I beat them to puppy.
Some of the bad healthcare workers are that rotten eggs, in front of some patients behave nicely, in front of other patients treat them like SHIT openly and bullying them behind closed doors then smack these marked patients with letter of warnings or some kind of other threats to BAR them from treatment if they dare to say out about all these harassment and mistreatment.

I have another friend who have a special needs adult uncle and he have been mark and mistreated by some bad healthcare workers who clearly don’t have compassion and some of these people talk only hot air stuff to the media interviews to boast their ego and resumes.

Not all heroes appear in the news or media to show off how great or wonderful they are. These are done in actual actions.

They are very unhappy or already marked my friend because of some other patients who saw what happened and they yell ‘Go sue them! Go complain to their CEO!!’ ‘ She works at this Ministry go sue them!!’

The bad healthcare workers decides to link 2 and 2 together especially this social worker which my friend is seeing, the conversation we heard also, so obvious the social worker is against my friend and even accused my friend and her colleagues that they are marked and threaten my friend their conversation is private and confidential. See how they like to use all these empty threats to isolate and bully my friend?

This is the kind of retaliation from all bad healthcare workers who fear more of being exposed on their misdeeds and to misuse the protection granted to healthcare workers and effectively marking my friend and many other patients

In fact they clearly group together to mark my friend, the police, healthcare all coverup for one another

We also heard conversations of how the police officers and other healthcare workers ask my friend when is she going to see the doctor and threaten her not to return to the Tampines North polyclinic out of her own mental health

The police officer Samudin who sounds incoherent and rude btw from Bedok Police division, he even threaten my friend that the police have the system of records of when my friend is going down for treatment and he warn her to TAKE CARE.

Who knows what kind of biased remarks the these bad police officers have left in their system as well and DEMAND That my friend go down to the police station.

Yes, my friend do know other patients who told her the same issues happen to them as well with the police

Let’s face it, some other patients who made a police report for their own bad situation at the polyclinic told my friend how the police would have had contacted the polyclinic office staff first before going down to take statements from the alleged healthcare worker’s side of their story first before approaching the patient who made the police report.

Until some patients got barred from treatment although they need them.

It shows that kind of threats they make to some patients and misusing their authority again.

Most won’t believe it until they experienced it themselves.

U mind if I PM u? I think it will be more beneficial for my friend to find out more from you directly as well on how to handle these people

Yes. All stand and watch show and accept that the healthcare workers can at ANY time use security and treat patients they mark badly. Hope some one will remove their protection for good since they can anyhow just use it to mark and threat my friend and other patients with POHA.

I saw Dr Gary Kang for flu and he is damn fucking gay and RUDE to ask stupid question wherther sore throat hurts. No brain ask stupid questions.

No questions why my friend is mistreated when you have gay doctors and allied health workers running around anti female sentiments to THREATEN their safety

Seriously, this is is the first time I heard in sg, anyone can be barred from getting treatment from any health care institution.
Eg even after I leeported a incident and lodged an official complaint of a loctor, this loctor will still need to treat me if in any case, I'm being assigned to his care.

IMHO this kind of thing I doubt spf can do anything or will do anything, unless when there are physical attacks.

For verbal disagreements and commotions, the only way is to reach out to the highest level of that institution, through the patient feedback service.
And your friend has to calm down and act objectively, in order for the complaint to be handled more fairly.

I know Easy for me to say, but there was once when I even needed to complain to the complaint leepartment of moh to complain to them that the complaint leepartment of that institution ignored my complaint. :inlove:

Thank you for your sharing your
gf experiences .

Quite eye opener - the Dark Side
of our Singapore Health Care System.

very sad to hear about it happening like that.
very sad .

By the time Dr Kang send my friend his letters of warning, he is already full anger and vegenance towards my friend because what his SHP directors at Sengkang polyclinic Dr Chang Zi Ying, Dr Esther Lee, Dr Derrick Choong of Tampines North Polyclinic and all the rest of doctors have marked my friend

More over my friend is an easy target. A female patient alone, polite, obliging, soft spoken, they decided to disrespect her, frame and get security guards to stalk after my friend on several occasions in the polyclinic when she is the there in peace and politely for her treatment

Throughout all the incidents and occurances, we listened to all the conversations from the SHP polyclinic doctors, staff. Dr Chang Zi Ying, Dr Esther Lee, Dr Derrick Choong and all the other doctors and staff started to provoke and antagonize my friend first. They make all kinds of nasty remarks and refused to answer my friend’s questions on her blood test and other treatment.

If my friend haven’t been so pushed into a corner to be confronted by so many staff, security officers and accused in public in front of so many patients by assistant directors Dr Derrick Choong and Dr Esther Lee and the physiotherapist Pang Sheng Min

My friend won’t have yell out in fear only to be further marked by Dr Kang and his other doctors as abusive, humiliating and threatening with letters of warning as seen here.

There are many patients who saw this and told my friend it is NOT RIGHT of them to treat my friend like that

Dr Derrick Choong and other directors want my friend to talk to them in the meeting room but they got so many security officers to surround and intimidate my friend

The patients around tell my friend this is not the first time these polyclinic directors and doctors have confronted and bullied patients openly

They have all witnessed and seen other patients who got bullied in the very same way as well even with the use of police and enforcement and better not go in to talk the doctors and staff because they are so threatening and intimidating

We who listened to all the conversations or have witnessed these are equally prejudiced towards bad doctors like Dr Gary Kang, Dr Chang Zi Ying and Dr Esther Lee and his very kind based on what we actually see and hear and know they openly bully patients and are very protected

Full of bullying air this Dr Kang to get his SingHealth and MOH hotline staff all shout at my friend over the phone, threaten her and refusing to answer any her questions

Dr Kang’s SingHealth hotline staff have the cheek to tell my friend they issued her letters of warning so the SHP staff will all be given a chance to do their jobs better (by mistreating my friend in their ways and threatening to deny her of treatment in the future.) - Sure this is the kind of doctor with compassion for the marginalised in the society by this Dr Kang

Those staff who saw only say SORRY to my friend who was visibly shocked and affected to be BULLIED RAW by Dr Gary Kang and all his Sengkang Polyclinic and Tampines North Polyclinic staff ganging up against her by using the several security officers to confront my friend had no choice but call the police them to come down because she was so afraid

Yes, we all hear that, some of us saw that as well and also so many patients around saw how he and his bad staff humiliated and bullied my friend and hearsay he do that to many other patients as well.

Hearsay too Dr Kang look down on some patients and only treat those who were ex civil servants ultra nice according to this retired ex civil servant staff who always visit him yet another retired patient describe Dr Kang as mean all full and bias towards him to dismiss his condition.

This is the actual kind of leadership Dr Kang doing together with his directors to issue letter of warning and threaten POHA at my friend so they can save their horrible asses.

Dr Gary used to write suggestion on improvements to his higherups.

We heard the conversation, Dr Kang is ultra lazy to ask Christine Tan to ask my friend for ideas for improvement when my friend went down to their SHP HQ hoping to clear the air peacefully

Dr Kang n his SHP Christine Tan staff still have the cheek to be opportunistic to take other patient’s idea to copy and paste it as his own to his superiors to rub more ego and present it on his very own. Very gd. So now we know where Dr Kang’s various ideas of improvement comes from.

From what we heard over all conversations for all SHP staff + Doctors + Sengkang polyclinic incidents which my friend experienced including some witnesses - the SHP doctors are all evil enough to question why my friend has this conversations

// Btw, Christine Tan is also very equally evil by telling my friend she will get people to call my friend every hour to disturb my friend knowing she is working

My friend trusted Christine Tan who is from SHP outpatient experience office to tell Christine a shocking and traumatic about an incident at Sengkang polyclinic where my friend was roughly handed and examined a male doctor and an Indian nurse for her piles or bleeding.

When my friend got frustrated at one point n visibly upset about the incident, Christine Tan evilly told my friend ‘There will be NO APOLOGY letter BECAUSE I say so’ and when my friend told her she will just go to another polyclinic, Christine Tan says ‘Go ahead all SHP polyclinics will treat you badly’

My friend questioned the male rude Dr about it who decided to be evil to get a security officer to station outside the room to intimidate my friend knowing that it will be a huge issue for the male doctor that he had mistreated my friend, humiliated and insulted my friend a female patient’s dignity and we all were listening to the conversation.

My friend also spoke to Dr Chang Zi Ying the Director of Sengkang Polyclinic which we all listen to the full conversations

Dr Chang had several times raised her voice at my friend who was throughout polite towards Dr Chang when she only questioned abt what the male Dr did

Dr Chang Zi Ying also claims my friend’s private parts were exposed during the piles examination by the male doctor and after my friend called their hotline to feedback, Dr Chang Zi Ying also send a letter of warning to my friend to accuse her of humiliating, making unreasonable requests and harassing the staff and threaten to remove her rights to medical treatment at the SHP polyclinics

(I have to check with my friend about this other letter of warning as well)

Dr Chang threaten to delay my friend’s medical treatment with the colorectal specialist appointment at SGH and SKH which both marked my friend down as well and we also overheard the conversations there, it’s quite nasty to be honest

Followed by Dr Esther Lee the assistant director of Sengkang polyclinic who yell at my friend. Both Dr Lee and another male doctor accused my friend of trying to frame them in front of other patients

Dr Lee got 2 nurses to chase my friend away from the polyclinic again in front of so many patients.

Pure abuse, intimidation and threats by this Sengkang polyclinic management. There is more on Punggol Polyclinic and Tampines North Polyclinic based on my friend who already avoided Sengkang polyclinic but still kena

The SHP staff are all so lazy and bad to push my friend from one Director to another

Dr Gary Kang does not even care nor bother to know what what happened as long as SHIT does not happen to his polyclinic.

Obviously Dr Kang is so afraid that this will be the end of his illustrious career based on the article post above and instructed his entire entourage of staff to all GO AFTER with obvious Vengeance and anger at my friend. Look at the letter of warning.

If they all can cover up just cover up and expect poor patients who have BAD EXPERIENCE to shut up

Dr Kang without hesitation bully and threaten patients with all his staff.

Yes. That is why Dr Chang Zi Ying and Dr Esther Lee JHK docs can anyhow raise voice and sabo our own sinkies, it’s a jhk SingHealth call centre staff who anyhow say my friend is on blacklist because the staff is going for lunch. Dr Gary Kang another one never think also

Whole country runs By foreigners & cronies or rich people with Connections. We need the 65% to wake up. Guess got to endure bullying till next GE unless sinkies stand up to tell the healthcare to step up their customer service if patients can get upset by their lousy handling.

My friend is too soft and calm down already to be bullied raw behind closed doors. Dr Kang was so scare other patients around know what happen.

They see my friend talk to elderly uncle patient, their security guards gang all melt away including the Asst director Dr Derrick Choong instantly disappear because Man to Man scare.

All the conversations we all heard so many occasions tor hotline staffs raise their voices and shout at my friend who eventually got frustrated to be bullied raw like that

it’s very clear their directors and management just brush aside and trying to stop my friend from reaching their highest management just because some other patients around shout Go complain to their CEO!!! And their staff can put them together.

Again, we all heard all the conversations of Dr Chang Zi Ying with my friend and she was very very nasty and going all out on vengeance at both the male Dr who examine my female friend as well as my friend for telling Dr Chang what happened. ‘Dr Chang told my friend Your private parts are exposed.’

My female friend was shocked when she hear that as well as Dr Chang try to delay my friends colorectal specialist treatment at SKH and SGJ

Dr Chang try to cover up by saying the polyclinic landline phones which she used to speak to my friend have no issues and anyhow accuse my friend of misconstruing the information, threatening, making unreasonable demands, harassment in Dr Chang’s own letter of warning.

I will go find out more from my friend about Dr Chang’s letter of warning but it’s too much

Whole country runs By foreigners & cronies or rich people with Connections. We need the 65% to wake up. Guess got to endure bullying till next GE unless sinkies stand up to tell the healthcare to step up their customer service if patients can get upset by their lousy handling.
True. There is a lot of issues which most even if they witnessed other patients being confronted by security, they are too fearful and afraid to speak out for the patients as it becomes it could be me if I complain and the healthcare workers turn against me

It becomes a fear based environment with all these fear posters of anti harassment and abuse.

It becomes to the bad healthcare workers situation of Us the healthcare workers with all the rights vs the lowly brats complaining @@ssholes fuck patients. Quite bad. No compassion, nothing.

I have seen how the staff can laugh patients who complain before although they were the very nasty ones.

The truth will hurt for you and your very kind one day. Will wait for the day where one day u can’t even help yourself, you want to end your suffering and sickness but can’t leave. I wish you and your very kind take care when that day comes for you all.
