Ang kong kia (tattooed man) kenna chopped at Changi Village

Chu People ?

Tattoos began in ancient time serving the purpose of identification in case you become a corpse. If with gang or with army, you'd be tattooed. If you were a prisoner for some crime, also tattooed. Then, some Jap friends of Drifter began the idea of artistic tattooing using body skin as canvass. Drifter was stoned high on weed and agreed.

If I'm not wrong the true Han people didn't have tattoos. The tribal ones have lots of tattooing plus tooth extraction or other form of cuts or piercing on their skin. The Japs learnt this from these people too. I think tattooing was a religious practice ? Thwart evil spirits ?
