Actually quite true, no?
"After I passed out from OCS I didn't exercise anymore.
Exercise was merely a means to an end. I had to pass IPPT and SOC in order to graduate. And I had to be physically fit to chong sua, do topo, bash through the jungle, do fire-and-movement, survive ATEC, survive Brunei, survive ROC, etc.
So after I earned my commission, there wasn't a need to exercise anymore. I already got what I wanted. Those 10 and a half months of PT torture was enough to last a lifetime.
As per Leo Tolstoy's epic War and Peace, I went through the war so now I want to nua and just enjoy the peace. Especially since I already ORD.
I have already proven myself by earning my commission and enduring those 10 and a half months of PT torture. I don't see why I should exercise and inflict self torture on myself. I don't have anything to prove to anyone nor is there a need."
