Actually if no degree possible to survive or not?

Yeah I used to think that way too and when I wanted to emigrate I started on the journey by collating all my work experience and qualifications for my PR application.

However when I explored the immigration booklet that I picked up from the embassy (no downloadable versions in those days), I suddenly realised that it was far easier to simply gain PR as a business migrant. I transferred the required sum and the rest is history.

Money gives you far more mobility than a degree ever will.

Agreed there is no shortages of trash and garbage looking for jobs but only so many millionaires in the world

A degree gives you mobility. With a recognised degree you can apply to jobs with larger MNCs in & outside of Spore. It is also easier to emigrate with one especially if it is from the same country where you got the degree from. The authorities will see the degree as an asset as you are likely to be employable.

If you intend to get a local degree then I don't think it is as valuable because local companies are looking for cheap labor & as a Sporeans you can't compete with the cheaper Indians, Malaysians, Pnoy,...

There are other reasons to get a foreign degree is that you can network. These contacts will broaden your horizons & may even help you in your career.

Indeed. But Singaporean contacts... well sadly, they are worthless. Those chumps probably want your help finding a job and have nothing good to offer in return. Basically like a free loading cousin from the branch family seeking favours from the main. Just a pain in the neck if you ask me.

Sinkies do not have the band of brothers attitude and cameradie that foreigners have and proudly display.if a shitskin manages to get a job in ur IT department,u can be sure the entire village and every free loading cousin of his from mumbai to kolkutta will be on a plane to sg next week with jobs waiting.

Not having such a 'band of brothers' attitude is what makes Singapore strong. We hire on merit, and not any idiot just because they are from our home town or some cousin. Why do you think that despite having so many talented individuals, countries like India, China, Thailand and Pinoyland continue to be a shithole?

Sinkies are too straight in their thinking. They think that the way to a successful life is degrees and more degrees. If they do not have degrees, they think they are done for.

The trouble is many degree graduates in the working world are really good for nothing. They are academically smart but they lack the acumen and shrewdness to compete in the global world. Good as teachers and army generals, but not businessmen. Better are the poly graduates or O level pass graduates who know how to bring in the customers' orders and connect well with people. These people have nothing to lose, so they are willing to go all out to take the gamble and do well in life.
