Could a Master's Degree Become the New Minimum for Entry-Level Jobs in Singapore?

Career, Job, Edu Qn in SG

Hi i've been thinking about this issue after having convos with international students in my postgrad class and i'm curious if anyone else has noticed the same trend locally.

A few of the them (From china) mentioned that credential inflation has hit pretty bad back home and with an oversupply of uni grads competing for a limited pool of jobs, a bachelor's degree has stopped becoming a differentiator and a master's degree has become the new floor.

Im curious if singapore is headed towards the same direction?Employment rates have been dropping but the graduate pipeline keeps increasing (See "Hyped" degrees like com sci/data sci). The job market then feels increasingly competitive for roles that weren't selective when i first started my undergrad. If enough people start pursuing a master's as a safety net, does it push the requirements even higher?
(Like how leetcode easy/mediums used to be the entry level for tech but now the common occurence seems to be leetcode hards)

The government appears to be aware of this issue with skillsfuture not sponsoring masters degree for a fear of "paper chase", so there might possibly be some accuracy in this trend

Would love to hear from ppl already in the workforce and those who did a masters degree. Did your additional certification help improve your employment chances? Or is this just another additional paper chase that's replacing the entry level requirements for singapore
