A Tale of Two Generals

Since when 三国 got 刘邦 and 韩信??? I thought 三国 only have 刘备,曹操 and 孙权??:D

This is pap's approach....
MPs and ministers 'elected' via GRC....military generals appointed by academic results....

Please don't unnecessarily state all Generals must serve in a war. Many peaceful countries have three or four star generals who also havent served in a war.

Neo Kian Hong didn some duty in East Timor.

If you want to criticise SG's paper generals, start with LHL, then fatty Ng Yat Chung.

Better to compare their salaries. If I am not wrong even a top general in the US does not get more than 20K US a month.
I am sure our top general gets far more. One day we will wonder how did we get this crazy.

Based on TS's argument, none of the soldiers in the history of SAF is a 'real' soldier.

You guys like to make fun of the army in Singapore.

I believe general in most country like Thailand, Indonesia or Malaysia even European also never fight any war. Only USA which they called themselves international police are fighting wars.

You are wrong that our neighbouring Generals did not fight wars.. their wars are counter-insurgencies... the Malayan Emergency, the Thai involvement in the Vietnam War, recently the Thai vs Cambodian conflict, and the skirmishes in the Burma-Thai border...

Most of the NCO in these countries earn their stripes in combat, and not like the 18 Yr old SAF SGT who get theirs after A levels or Poly and after SISPEC... their officers and Generals have been to and see the wars up front... ours is only for peacekeeping and not direct combat...

So pls dun trivialise our neighbouring militaries; they may be poorly equipped but come combat, they are the real deal... just like the NVA/VC vs American/ARVN in the Vietnam War.. we know who won that right?

I doubt the recent Malaysian Generals fought in the confrontation. As I said, not all the world's generals have seen combat.
