Citizens who waste their votes by spoiling them should have their citizenship REVOKED and rendered STATELESS then they will learn to value and treasure what citizenship and the sacrosanct right to vote is.

They deserved to be struck off from the electoral registers.

Because they don't take election seriously.

This will make the voting population smarter.

What if they spoilt their votes unintentionally?

For instance, some elderly folks might not know that they are supposed to put a cross in the box. They might put a tick instead.

Others might be considered spoilt for reasons like the cross falling outside of the box parameters, etc.

Vote spoilers do not understand the true meaning of "your vote is sacred" Why spoil it when you can use it to vote for the better choice whether you think it's the WP candidate or the PAP's. Just mark your choice with a simple cross lah! People in Tanjong Pagar have been deprived of their citizen's right to vote for so long now. Please spare a thought for them. You have no idea of what the spoiled vote means. It means they don't like any of the candidates standing for election enough to support him/her. In this case, the percentage is minuscule. What if enough voters are fed up of all candidates that spoiled votes reach 50% of all votes cast? Do you think whoever wins the election will be able to go about doing what was promised easily or they will be on their toes because they know their support base is extremely insecure?
