I look at it slightly differently. The person on the left obliges the rich to give to the poor, but ultimately, the decision to give is their own. The guy on the right forces the rich, some of whom have worked hard for their money, to give to the poor and the not so poor among his own cronies.
The above said, both of them, as well as the capitalist are essential parts of an economy. You take away any part and the whole thing would 'dissolve into nothingness'.
