2017年，在圆明园如园遗址，考古人员发现了11颗古莲子。2018年5月，古莲子被送往中国科学院植物研究所培育，6颗成功发芽并在温室进行盆栽培养。今年4月移出温室种植在圆明园荷花基地，沉睡百年的古莲“复活”开花。

In 2017, at the site of Yuanmingyuan Ruyuan, archaeologists discovered 11 ancient lotus seeds. In May 2018, the ancient lotus seeds were sent to the Institute of Botany of the Chinese Academy of Sciences for cultivation. Six of them were successfully germinated and cultivated in the greenhouse. In April this year, the greenhouse was planted in the lotus base of Yuanmingyuan, and the ancient lotus "resurrection" that had been sleeping for a hundred years was blooming.
