A simpleton's solutions to problems are:

1. To reduce health care costs, his solution is to tell Singaporeans not to fall sick
2. To defeat Zika, his solution is to tell Singaporeans not to breed mosquitoes

We have a simpleton as our PM.

If he has nothing of significance, or at least point to a possible solution, then I rather he shut up. Stating the obvious grandmother-time solution does not even justify a Sinkie salary, let alone multi millions!

And anyone realized NO ministers or anyone in white send off the para Olympians when they left for the Games? And those athletics had to beg for donations in town centers over many weekends to pay for their passage there?

Such is the level hypocrisy of the MIWs, when there's no glory to steal. And all points to an incompetent leeder.

It is ok to be a simpleton lah. Not everyone can be born with brains. However allowing the import of dubious japanese agricultural imports which may be radio active shows a lack of care for the lesser mortals.

This is the same guy which allowed the casinos into Spore which has caused plenty of social problems.

It is ok to be a simpleton. But it is not ok for a simpleton to be PM. A simpleton PM will destroy the country and nullify what the previous generations worked hard for and built. That's not fair to Singapore and Singaporeans

I congratulate the PM for getting to the root cause of problems. He is absolutely right.

If all Singaporeans exercised for just 30 minutes daily, I'm convinced the health of the population would be transformed. It worked for me so why shouldn't it work for everyone else?

Same with the mosquito issue. All that is required is for the community to take responsibility for their immediate surroundings.

In an after-dinner speech Tuesday to U.S. businessmen, Lee Hsien Loong made a couple of jokes that could pass for stand-up comedy.

He drew laughs — and some groans — with his quips, including one about China's environmental problems.

"Beijing residents joke that to get a free smoke all they have to do is open their windows!" Lee said.

He then alluded to thousands of pig carcasses recently fished from Chinese rivers.

"(In) Shanghai, if you want some pork soup, you just turn on the tap," he said.

His audience appeared doubtful if that was good taste
