You mean AR-15? There is no M-15. The M-16 is the military version of the AR-15, which was a hunting rifle initially. The AR-15s used in the SAF in the late 60s till mid 70s were bought from the US, most of which were Vietnam surpluses, as the US troops were withdrawing from Vietnam.
