The Grandmasters is an upcoming Hong Kong action drama film based on the life story of Wing Chun grandmaster Yip Man. The film is directed and written by Wong Kar-wai and stars Tony Leung as Yip Man.

Somehow just find that he does not have the style for kung fu movie.

the trailer out so long liao, so much hype about this movie because of its director Wong Kar-wai.

Never appreciate his movies :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Tony is good actor and versatile he can act as anyone but the action scenes will be a challenge due to his background or rather the lack of Kung fu foundation

Is he the same Tony Leung of "Love, Lust, Caution"?

or the Tony Leung of "The Lover" (set in French Indo-China)?

Reports from martial arts instructors of this movie have gave the 2 thumbs up to Tony Leung Chiu Wai for his very inborn talent towards pugilistic skills. In fact, it is said that Tony, if given time n proper tutelage, can be a very good Wing Chun practioner (as said by the instructor who taught him the style in the movie)

And to be honest, his acting skills are really better than Jet Li's.. who's kung fu is way better cos he started learning it at a very young age. In the movie "Hero", the action scenes for Jet Li were awesome.. but acting wise... Toney beat him hands down.

As for Wong Kar Wai, I only liked the one where Takeshi Kaneshiro got his debut appearance, along with Toney Leung.. forgot the title.. but Wang Fei also was in that movie.

Other movies of Wong Kar Wai.. I get a headache almost immediately when the movie start.. very very hard to et into the story.. as he directs movies with NO SCRIPTS.
