Japanese Man Arrested for Allegedly Breaking Into Colleague’s Home to Steal Her Underwear
A 27-year-old man from Kawasaki City was arrested for repeatedly breaking into his female colleague’s apartment in Ota Ward, Tokyo, Japan, using a key he had secretly duplicated, according to police in Kanagawa Prefecture.

Suspect and Victims are Colleagues

The suspect, Yuki Murai, worked in the same office as the woman and had been entering her apartment without permission since around August 2024.

His actions only came to light after the woman, who is in her 20s, noticed several of her belongings going missing and alerted authorities.

Took Photo of Her Key to Make a Copy

According to Tokyo Reporter, Murai found the woman’s house key inside her bag at their workplace.

He photographed the key, which displayed the manufacturer and serial number, and later used this information to create a duplicate without her knowledge.

Stole Personal Items

On March 30, 2024, at around midnight, Murai allegedly entered the woman’s apartment and stole six personal items.

Among them were underwear, a handbag, lip balm, and a small security camera.

The stolen goods were estimated to be worth about 15,000 yen (approx. S$131).

Suspect Admitted to Acting Out of Spite

Police said Murai was motivated by personal feelings toward the woman.

When questioned, he reportedly confessed,

“I had feelings for her. I wanted to make her feel bad because she ignored my Line messages,” according to reports.

Hundreds of Photos Found on His Phone

Furthermore, authorities discovered over 300 photos of the interior of the woman’s apartment stored on Murai’s smartphone.

Police also believe these were taken during the more than 20 times he is suspected of unlawfully entering her home.

Security Camera Installed Also Stolen

The woman initially grew suspicious after noticing her underwear was missing.

She installed security cameras in her apartment to monitor the situation, but those cameras were also stolen, prompting her to report the incidents to the police.

You cannot stop a man from his quest. Some build companies, businesses, others into research and science. In this case, its a bit different.

This case reminds of K movie titled Following.
