TOKYO

Police in Tokyo have arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of committing an indecent act after he approached a high school girl and allegedly forced her to touch his lower body.

Police said the incident occurred on the night of April 30 as the girl walked home along a street in Nerima Ward, Sankei Shimbun reported.

According to police, Masato Honda, a company employee, approached the girl and grabbed her hand. He reportedly made her touch his crotch through his pants and told her that he would give her money, if she "took a look," police said.

Police said Honda has partially denied the allegation, saying, "I couldn't suppress my desire, but I didn't let her touch my body."

Honda was identified after street surveillance camera footage showed his car on the street at the time of the incident.

Police said there have been a series of similar incidents reported in the ward in April and May. Honda was quoted as saying, "I did the same thing about 10 times.”
