The potential of Australia is near limitless, same applying to Canada. I have always felt that the aus government is less concerned about being seen as saint of human rights compared to the States or the United kingdom. Maybe that is why Australia does not suffer any bombings or Muslim rioting...

Well, I will just desire a small city lifestyle with cosmopolitan demographics, with a slower pace of life than Singapore or Seoul. If I were to compare, it is the equivalent to Calgary of Canada, Birmingham of England and Kobe of Japan.

Would Perth or Adelaide be an equally good choice? I know Melbourne is still the best in Australia, but I have thoughts about moving to quieter cities to slow down.

How on earth do you apply pressure without getting elected? Have you seen the example of Dr Chee? Nice chap championing for Singaporeans, but because he is not elected, he gets persecuted by the courts. If you are elected, the courts will find it harder to tarok you. Basic common sense.
