Bomoh held over rape - Need I say more?

A local bomoh, who convinced a woman to have sex with him for her father’s health, has been arrested for rape in Lahad Datu.

The bomoh had told the 21-year-old woman that his semen was needed to help treat her father and took her to a river to perform a so-called ritual bath before allegedly raping her.

Acting Lahad Datu police chief Asst Supt Ang Seow Aun said the 27-year-old suspect told the woman to follow all the stages of treatment or her father would not recover.

ASP Ang said the woman was introduced to the bomoh by her cousin’s husband, adding that she took her father to the bomoh’s house last Monday.

The woman lodged a report upon realising she was fooled by the man who took off following the incident, he said, adding that police managed to detain the suspect later.
