According to Europe 1, a 90-year-old woman was the victim of a sexual assault in her apartment in Nice. A suspect of Tunisian origin has been taken into custody.
A sexual assault of extreme brutality. According to Europe 1, a 90-year-old woman was raped in her apartment in Nice. Contacted urgently by the victim’s daughter this morning, the police went to the victim’s home. On the scene, officers observed visible injuries, particularly on her legs and upper lip.
According to the 90-year-old woman’s statements, a man in his thirties knocked on her door in the early morning. Thinking it was her nurse, she opened the door. The man then pushed the elderly woman into the apartment, then onto her bed.
The alleged suspect then sexually assaulted his victim orally. He also licked the 90-year-old woman’s face before leaving the premises, leaving behind an unfinished beer.
The victim told the police that the attacker had told her he lived on the fourth floor of the building. The officers found a squat occupied by six men.
During the search, the alleged suspect, a man of Tunisian nationality, spoke with a roommate in Arabic, who then translated for the police. He reportedly admitted to going to the victim’s home, while also blaming her behavior, claiming she had “seduced” him. The man was arrested and taken into custody. Three of his roommates, all subject to deportation orders, were also arrested. The 90-year-old woman was taken to the hospital.
The president of the UDR party and Member of Parliament for the Alpes-Maritimes department, Éric Ciotti, denounced an “absolute horror” and called for “justice to be merciless towards the aggressor.” “I offer my full support to the victim of this barbaric act,” he added, before asking: “How long will France tolerate such abominations?
