A young man slashed a teen for molesting his girlfriend, causing him to lose his three right fingers.
Ho Bee Hing, 21, had brought the 17-year-old to a park at Bangkit Road on April 8 on the pretext of talking to him.
He then questioned the victim on whether he had touched his girlfriend. The victim at first denied this.
On further questioning, the victim admitted that he had touched Ho's girlfriend.
Ho then took out a knife tucked at his waist and wanted to slash the victim on his chest.
But the victim used his right hand to block the blow, which resulted in his palm being slashed.
The victim shouted for help. He was sent to hospital and warded for a week.
Ho was sentenced to 15 months and three strokes of the cane for grievous hurt. He was given a consecutive sentence of two years, the minimum, for having 0.71g of ketamine.
Two other sentences he got for drug-taking and mischief by cutting a reformative training centre tagging are ordered to run concurrently.
In all, Ho will serve three years and three months plus caning.
