the crowd at last week event is pathetic... almost a non event

take a look at the video Ho Harn posted... did any1 went for the event... if any1 was there please tell us how was the turnout

Abdul Salim say he will let his membership lapse due to health & personal reason. :)

another supporter said They alienated me & rest of middle ground in Spore when they supported breast cream peddler Tan Jiak Sai

is NSP so irrelevant that no 1 bother to reply...
no1 bother to go to their event?
no1 bother bout the event after its over ???

compare this NSP event with WPYW event... thier youthquaks are often nonevents but this time. they have yahoo, razor, CNA covering

compare the coverage of NSP outreach @ kovan this morning , which is chen show mao terrority... and WP outreach in east coast and Tampinese???

Well, take a look at the attendance at WP Youth Quake, it was quite poorly attended. Apparently you have purposely left this important information out. Luckily Youth Leaders from SDP and NSP attended to make up the numbers.

I was quite curious actually. WP should have over 500 members by now and its Youth Wing should have at least 100 people. Why was the event poorly attended? Something is not right here.

According to reports, NSP outreach event has at least 40 people. Someone told me about 80 but I have personally counted the number from video taken on the spot, there were at least 40.

With regards to coverage, I think NSP outreach event has pretty good coverage on MSM.

I have attended WP Youth Quake prior to GE2011 and the attendance was pretty bad as well. This is no surprise.

It actually means that GE fever is over but it looks like NSP's members are more supportive of its own event in spite of a smaller membership base.

goot to have you back, this forum is boring without some1 to shoot :D:D

you know better than me how small WP HQ is ... I counted 4 or 5 empty seats... 2 or 3 people were standing at the back... the late comers

this WP Youth Quake hav a rather silly topic..... youth parliament? there was not as much publicity as compare to NSP own your future event where they mass email to every1

there was no big shots attending since Youth Quake are routine things and it managed to get yahoo, razor, CNA, Straits Times covering

here is the crowd... I would said about 85% filled... 40 person according to ST

in contrast, NSP own your future event was suppose to be on NSP plans for the next 5 years

you book a freaking hotel Ballroom for this, the number of empty seats is more than the number of attendees and half of the attendees seem to be NSP CEC

Apparently you have problems counting but this photo is from WP member.

As for NSP event, not only ST reported, Zaobao also reported on it. The video clips that I have seen don't belong to me. ST reported 40 people but it should be more than that.

Routine or not, that is just an excuse. If you can't even mobilize and convince your own members to attend, why should outsiders be interested?

Why so sour grapes? Still wish you had stayed in Aljunied so you can now be sitting in Pritam's place? hahahahahahaha

problems counting what ? There was still people comming in 3 and 3.30, and the event start @ 2.... I was referring to the total crowd not just the early birds here... you can go and check with Nicole seah whether there was @ least 85% - 90% filled in the small room.. and from the peektures I copyied here, also show 85% crowd unless you are blind

ST said:
Responding to a question from the floor, moderator Bernard Chen, 25, asked the 40-strong audience to vote on whether they felt a Youth Parliament should be partisan.

ST report 40 for WP small crowd, i really cant find anything about the NSP event on FB ... dun tok to me about zaobao... Nicole Seah Party dun attract the zaoBao crowd

TOC said:
conference saw a turn-out of around eighty people which included party members, volunteers and members of the public who wanted to know more about the party’s agenda.

really appreciate if you can post the video online

If you can't even mobilize and convince any1 other than your own CEC to attend a makor Party event, then I worry

You can argue until the cow come home also no use. There is only one truth, you are really making NSP looking very big by admitting that WP Youth Quake, in spite of being the biggest opposition party with great strength, could only get the same number of people as NSP for their forums.

The main reason is that the GE fever has died down and such attendance will hardly be "BIG", even for WP. Nobody in his right mind would use such forum attendance to come to the conclusion that WP is dying!

To think of it, WP has also gone through the same process of growth. Just don't assume other people are not growing because they are just right behind you.

It's not a major party event lah. SG is a nobody, the boss is President Sebastian Teo. Same structure in UMNO and MCA. Have you even heard of the SG of UMNO or MCA?

it is not about attendence... its bout your GE candidate embarassed to be associated with the party... its about an ex hardcore supporter being alienated from the party

its about the lack of coverage after a major party event by the party itself...

If I am a NSP supporter, i will worry but you dun give a shit....

If WP members and supporters aren't even bothered about WP candidate resigning right after GE because the NCMP allocation, why should NSP be worried about its GE candidate letting his membership lapse due to personal reasons?

You really have weird logic.

You're obviously referring to Eric. You know that I was in his EC team until before the formation of the M-K team. As a friend and team leader, he's alright doing very well. The allocation to Gerald took me by surprise and even Glenda and Gerald himself by surprise. But such is politics. We have to accept the judgment of the decision makers. The adverse reaction and resignation took us by even bigger surprise. But we have to move on, otherwise move out.

Apparently from the news report, the decision was made by the whole CEC voting, thus, I don't think many of them are "taken by surprise", especially those who voted against Eric. Well, I think only Eric was taken by big surprise and he is that bit too rush to quit immediately. But life has to move on and I am glad he has moved on.

People come and go, that's the nature of things, not only politics.

here is a netizen asking about more info for NSP events for last sunday and this morning and here you go talking nonstop about WP again

WP has been talked to death....

why the lack of interest in NSP even for its ex SG ??? I think i am the only idiot who give a shit about NSP?

dun blame media blackout when even your own publicity whore nicole seah choose to publicise WP lame Youth Quake event on her wall than her own NSP events and outreach ?

Good you remember how things work in WP. For example, 2006 allocation to Sylvia, nobody was surprised.

Actually I was surprised because Sylvia has indicated that she does not prefer to take up NCMP because she is still teaching in Temasek Poly. I have also indicated that I will not want to be NCMP while Tan WH didn't want to be NCMP as well. James Gomez was working overseas and internally, only Rahizan was open to the idea of getting the NCMP.

But when Sylvia finally said that she will take up the NCMP post, there isn't consultation but we don't have much objections.

Thats the trouble with having identities known. You guys will never write your true feelings when you are dealing with people that you know.

Such statements are there so that you can continue to mingle.

The whole of Singapore knew that it will be Gerald Giam except you, Sylvia, Gerald, LTK, and all individual members of WP. Since it is a collective decision of the CEC. lets assume that all CEC as an entity has no clue what its members want. Really bizarre and stupid don't you think.

Actually, that is the problem here.

As the leader of the team, Eric Tan was promised the NCMP in the event of having one. And I would assume that the WP members know... or at least, his team mates knew before they went to battle.

Frankly speaking, for me, I don't really bother until Eric's case blew up. Eric's grudges were more of the feeling betrayed rather than not getting the NCMP seat. He was happily telling the reporters that he would most probably be the NCMP because he got that promise before hand. It turned out otherwise without consultation and obviously he felt betrayed and bitter about it. I empathize with his feelings, that's all.
