Stupid fella gave up the chance to win the league when he could have joined Mourinho's chelsea in 06/07. I remember Rafa was clearing all the merseyside boys to bring in spanish players then.

I remember the worst cases of mismanagement by Houllier must be la tallec and sinima pongolle. Both were top rated best french youth squad strikers before joining liverpool.
Heskey and Crouch were starlets bought for their specialised physical abilities. But not used effectively. Wasted.

A photograph has surfaced of Mesut Ozil huffing away on a cheeky tab while sunning himself aboard a yacht in Ibiza over the summer and, when taken to task by German daily BILD over being caught out with a filthy lung dart in his mouth, promptly gave the lamest excuse imaginable:
“I was on a yacht on vacation and so I didn’t notice I was being photographed. Nothing happened until the next day, when I got lots of texts and phone calls from friends.
“It was because I lost a bet and therefore only a one-time thing. I assure you: I do not smoke.”
Firstly, the lady in that photo could be any middle-aged, retired womens tennis pro. We’re not so sure that it’s even Ozil at all.
Secondly, if this ‘bet’ excuse is true and that is him in the picture, then young Mesut has surely got to begin asking himself: ‘should I really be hanging around on boats with grown men that still dare each other to smoke cigarettes?’
