Anyone facing SingNet problem?

Problem is with the contractor installing the optical fibres. All landline will be switched to fibre optic in the near future.

bro..u using mac..ask u...cos i suaku with mac..
can use Windows on Mac or not? I heard you can have Mac OS n Windows.....of course mac OS (snow leopard is it?) but Windows bcos of certain prog compatibility...
how about games...i have idea that games for Mac quite limited...of cse things like Civ have mac version...
generally Mac more chio graphics n faster but more ex right?
When you get a Macbook Pro, you can switch OS, now MacOS latest is Lion, I have an XP OS in my MBP, but i hardly use it, you can play online games like WoW in both OS, but mostly use XP to play games. Compatibility of other applications, I'm not sure, but one of my friend always switches OS, so far no complains from him.

What I like about Mac is that it can last you a good 4-5 years, no virus, startup faster, navigation is much easier, I need a Mac to earn living because most programs I used are Mac apps.

I signed up for M1 fibre before, i waited for opennet to install the fibre optic to my house for a good 2 months, and they still havent come. Complained to M1, they dun let me terminate the contract, I go find one of the manager, ask him wrote a statement, give me a dateline, in the end, the terminated my contract and said sorry, LOL

Too many hoary anecdotes about M1's failure to deliver on service standards, and a litany of hidden costs embedded in its "promotions", should lead customers to eschew M1.

Even the M1 staff who attended me also shakes head and said he signed up for it also never get because of fibre optic installation problem, LOL

so that was what happening :(

my net froze and everything suddenly just blanked off!!

these are the DNS servers of singnet, meant to resolve hostnames to ip addresses.

I called SingNet, they told me to solve it, now so far working fine, but have to check further.

If you guys using Aztec modem, DSL1015EW(S), you need to add 2 ip no. in your Newtwork/DNS, Im using a Mac, not sure how PC works. Add these 2 ips

165.21.83.88 and 165.21.100.88, and click apply.

time taken for the data if at 300-400ms, it's a foreign site. rite?

No use, the ping resiult is 10ms to 200ms swing.
Normally is stable at 300 - 400ms

Something is wrong with Singtel side.

I think there's something wrong over at Singnet they're not telling. That two IP nos was already in the Aztec modem setup I had but I still face network/dns problems lastnight. I thought it was my machine having problem as the OS troubleshooting found dns server failure and I kept rebooting but problem persist. Modem showing internet connection on but machine showing no internet access, intermittent line drop.:*:

It looks fine now but I dont know if Singnet has the issue resolved or will the problem come back. Usually and normally when I start the machine there's automatic internet connection but now there's wireless connection but no internet access, I have to disconnect and reconnect to have internet access. It's frustrating and I cant help having a feeling Singnet is doing some kind of filtering or their network server is failing or having failure.:(

Its the 1st time i had this problem since 3 months ago....

I had been using Singnet all along, quite many years and intermittent disconnections is not new to me, it happens quite frequently since one to two years ago. Have been calling and complaining many times, they have checked ground line, replace wall socket whatever but problem will still come back if not so frequent. They'd been denying their end having problem but cant explain as to what is the cause.

Previously I can tell by looking at the modem when there's line drop, a disconnection so I know it's not my machine's fault and wait it out. But last night was different, the modem shows no line drop and there's a connection but I cant surf the net, pages wont load, all showing browser cant find site, server fail to connect whatever that means. When I look at the wireless icon, it shows connected but no internet access which is strange and kept rebooting. Even now I think there's still some problem, every once in a while youtube wont load or load properly unless a page is refreshed.:(

Have to change to fibre because copper expensive the metal theft will cut. Fibre optic no theft want to steal.
