NDP should also have one minute of silence to commemorate those who served NS and died on duty. This is the least the Government can do to thank loyal citizens who gave up their lives to serve the country.

There should also be a monument dedicated to our brothers who like us, served the nation with pride. We should also not forget those who were maimed or injured while serving NS.

I salute all NSMen who went through the grueling 2-3 years of National Service. I am proud to be one of you.

yes, i think at least what SAF should do is to buy life-insurance for each and every national servicemen for at least SGD 1 Million per person life.

And also have Disability Insurance due to accidents, or training injuries, up to payment of SGD 1 Million.

And for illness, critical illness, no matter how unlikely, up to payment of SGD 1 Million.

And the insurance policies to be in force every time when the servicemen go for IPPT, RT, Reservist Training, Activation.

And please remove the stupid clause of ACT OF WAR... we need insurance when there is high risk. CCB insurance companies only want to make money, but don't payout. for those insurance companies actuaries that don't want to package this into their products, then MAS should kick these blood suckers out of Singapore.

OR we could just fire all our millionaire MPs and just pay bangala toilet cleaners to make random bad money-wasting decisions. lolz.

In order not to waste the lives of Singaporean Male Citizens for SAF trainings, perhaps the PAPPIES could consider employing mercenaries, at least have the officers as Regulars, and let the Officers go through proper training, and form up the SEPOY Brigade.

During the British Colonization before WWII, the british need only 500 soldiers armed with muskets and marched inside New Delhi, and took control of India.

The officers in the SEPOY brigade were British, and the men, all Indians, Bayis.

Since there are so many banglas and indians coming in, they can take the job as SAF recruits, being trained into submission by the Regular Officers.

Definitely will not let them armed with SAR2000 weapons, give them only Muskets, and gun powder and pellets..

Then only after 3 years of training, they are all only PRIVATES, and only after that, they can get their S-PASS.

Hard to believe that it would cost $1 billion for 200K NS men annually. An insurance company will be laughing all the way to the bank to get this contract.

One E2C cost the government $1 billion each to purchase initially. Add the cost of MRO, operations will easily surpass $10 billion. If NS men are not important for the MIW, in times of need even the lowly AR15 need a man to pull the trigger. Without the trained personnel, even the most expensive equipment is totally useless. It is a chicken and egg situation.

i'm using very rough estimates with numbers taken from my own medical/life insurance(which i cancelled a few years back, AND doesn't cover acts of war/terror) i bought from Great Eastern. didn't add in inflation either.

NTUC might give a cheaper rate, but those lying bastards might add some clauses which make it worthless, or use the money to invest in shite like burma or goldman sucks shares then claim they too poor to pay up.

from a bizness point of view, it makes sense. in war, a lot of people can die at once, up to few hundred thousand at a time even w/o nukes. that's enough to put any insurance company out of business, even if the war DOESN'T destroy the company's infrastructure. the results are similar to a natural disaster.
