Hi Nicole meimei,
I know you must be crying onto your pillow every night since the result was announced. You must still be wondering why in spite of your popularity with the paparazzi, those old uncles and those post-NS boys - the majority of Marine Parade residents still vote for me and my team-mates.
One secret I want to share with you is the power of the silent majority. This you must learn.
I remember to this day my primary school English teacher taught me the proverb :
Empty vessels make the most noise. (You hear them noises at Serangoon, Hougang, Potong Pasir and many other places). You know I can't keep quiet with all the excitements. People may misunderstand and say I am stuckup. That's why sometimes I subconsciously blurt it out by saying "I don't know what to say".
Admittedly I have a fondness for Kate Spade handbag - the first branded birthday gift I received in my 27 years of life. I am sure your boyfriend would similarly like to pamper you with some branded goods, or bring you to your favourite holiday country. We are women after all.
We are unlike those post-NS boys - who after serving 2-years NS felt so proud and thought that they have fought a Third World War! They demand for this and that!
Some are crazy over Manchester United, while others are crazy over Liverpool. We women don't understand why these boys are crazy over some angmohs half way round the globe wearing red jerseys kicking their balls from one end of the field to the other end. The same boys don't understand why Kate Spade handbag or shoes are important for us women.
The election is over. Let begone be begone. I heard that you are still keen to help residents of Marine Parade. If you are free this Wednesday evening, perhaps you may want to drop by and say hello to the residents. They will be very happy to see you and me working together looking into their welfare. I am at MacPherson Ward.
My warmest regards and love,
TPL,
MP for Marine Parade GRC
PS. If time permits, we may go shopping together after that.
