I was also shocked at the amount. Wah, so high, I was occifer got at the most half of what he got, and since when can u be a SGT in NS?

aiyah, propaganda again la! he's not the 1st how extended his NSF term. some ppl in the past have extended their's for tons of reasons; waiting for NUS/NTU semester to start, waiting for letter of acceptance from overseas varsities, waiting for employment response etc.

this joker decided to extend his service citing some noble camaraderie reasons is just pure methane emitting BS. if he wants to sail, he can go ahead & sail.

he may not regret it now, but he will surely regret it later, bcos he probably will miss 1 reservist cycle due to the 6mth SAF100 notice period. if he's lucky, he skips 1st yr reservist cycle & rejoins his unit for the next cycle. if he's unlucky, he'll be posted to a different unit, where he will fulfill his reservist cycles with total strangers.

by then, i truly expect to see if ST will still feature him & will he still stand his ground in all that talk about camaraderie... :D:D

I noticed that he likes to spend time with men. In his reason for extending, he says he cannot leave his men like that. than he wants to be a sailor, which is spending long months at sea with...........u guess it, men. Look at his face and all I can conclude is Mat Bapok.

I think this is another "kelong". His parents could be CC or RC members. Just wondering if it was a Chinese or Indian, would it make it to the front page?

Could have just sign-on a 3 year contract. If sign-on now, the back pay will be at least $20-30K?

The period of voluntary extension will count towards their Operationally Ready National Service (ORNS). In addition, they will be eligible for recognition given to NSmen, such as NSmen tax relief.

Good idea, extend and be done with the 13 year cycle of in-camps. Since he is lau chiow NSF and his batch already ROD, I'll bet he will have easy time doing lobo and enjoy a prolonged ROD mood. Better than doing in-camps, mobilizations, routine reporting and exit permits until 40, he can concentrate on his career and get on with his life.

I mean... Everyone,

Why do you give so much negative comment and feedback.. If you can't do what he is doing?

The devil is in the details. How exactly these Rambos who extend their NS can have their ICT reduced is not said. If extend by 8 mths i.e. est 240 days how many ICTs or call-up years can be skipped? Knowing our SAF, I don't think these Rambos can get a fair deal. No NSF or reservist ever, ever gets a fair deal. Period.
