'Rename an MRT station 'Olympic' station.'

MR CLEMENCE CHIA: 'Never in my life could I ever have imagined that tiny Singapore would host the Olympic games one day. It was indeed a dream come true not just for me but also for the nation. Besides having a Youth Olympic Park to commemorate this historical event, I suggest that we rename an MRT station 'Olympic' station. The chosen station should be ideally situated in the town areas so that all future generations and tourists will remember that Singapore was once the Olympic games host nation.'

Totally 100% agree with the suggestion. We should definitely have an "Olympic" MRT so we can all remember the YOG. We must NEVER FORGET what happened.

Hello, hosting the YOG is not the same as the Olympic Games ok! Naming a mrt station as "Olympic" station? Then how about a public park to be renamed the Olympic Park? Jln Besar football stadium can also be renamed Olympic Stadium! Don't get carried away too much like Clemence.

aiyah, they stress so much about national education, then they should start naming all the stations in chornological order of distinct characters in sg history; parameswara, sang nila utama, sir thomas stamford raffles, william farquhar, yusof ishaak, benjamin sheares, devan nair, wee kim wee, ong teng cheong... n if prataman goes in time, can add his name to the count too.

if they wanna credit the premieres of sg; david marshall, lim yew hock, tunku abdul rahman, lee kuan yew, goh chok tong, lee hsien loong.

the early idealogists; lim chin siong, fong swee suan, lee kuan yew, goh keng swee etc.

if they list the names of sg history.......... there's more than enough names to label the mrt stations

I find it even more meaningful to rename POTONG PASIR MRT station to CHIAM SEE TONG MRT station so that everyone shall remember Potong Pasir is the town no PAP has the caliber to take it regarldess of the number of carrots dangled at its doorstep.
