No means test required for Spore tax payers. Die, die we all have to pay the teaxes. Our $$$ goes to supporting those parasites

dun yah yah, everyone of us got a chance to get a heart bypass with all the char kuay teow and laksa we consumed..

Not many Sporeans can afford the operation which will cost from $30k to 50k. Even then the long term results is doubtful if the individual continues to eat like a pig. In the US people who don't change their diet need another by-pass after a few years.

Khaw Boon Wan's not a doctor. Anyway, many years ago, my uncle went heart bypass in his late 30s. So it's not something only for the 70s.

I am inclined to agree with you. Does it really matter indeed when he has an overblown bureaucracy behind him to do the real work? He has got a formidable team of junior minister, civil servants etc backing him up in his health portfolio. Imho, he should simply concentrate on recuperation and enjoy his early retirement!

just becos vivian is an eye surgeon does not mean he is qualified to operate on anything from head to toe ...

To lolabunny & others, no doubt food intake & diet matter to a large extent to our blood chemistry, still the production of 'bad cholesterol' or for that matter all cholesterol also depends on each individual's consitution - that is genetics come into play.

For a long time, my diet is considered unlikely to result in high cholesterol (high fibre, low fat).

Mi doctor explain due to heredity reasons, mi body will tend to produce higher than normal level of bad cholesterol so I am put on medication to reduce level of bad cholesterol. This is after over 2-3 years, after dieting has proven not to be the main reason.

So, check out your doc if you need to pay special attention to your high cholesterol levels despite a relatively healthy diet.

If your body is producing high levels of cholesterol, just make sure to supplement with more fibre or red yeast as your 'healthy' diet is still insufficient in proving enough fibre. Consider something like

FYI, High Cholesterol is only damaging if it oxidises, so take anti-oxidants to prevent this

Obviously Ah Khaw is clueless that prevention is better than being cut up.
Even though he makes millions , the next few months will be difficult ones as he recuperates.

The heart by-pass operation may even have damaged his brain. Such an operation requires the assistance of machines to off load the functions of the heart while the surgeon works on the heart & such a switch over may cause brain damage
