NBS students project papers analyse that Lurkin Coffee $2.99 and cheap drinks at Mixue will bankrupt Ah-Kun coffee shops.

This is mainly due to the solid evidence that Ah-Kun, Lurkin and Mixue prices are very similar and youngsters in Singapore perceive Ah-Kun are of inferior quality.

Project papers also show that Starbucks market shares are also under attack by Lurkin.

However Starbucks situation is not as serious as Ah-Kun simply because both Ah-Kun and Lurkin do not provide sufficient space for their customers.

In the mid term to longer term, both Lurkin and Mixue will be the winner while ah-kun closures are imminent even though Ah-Kun is quite popular among foreign tourists in Singapore.

However, foreign tourists in Singapore do not provide sufficient base to sustain Ah-Kun numerous coffee shops and branches

Ah Kun must evolve and change . Otherwise, they will see their market shares being eroded by Lurkin and Mixue.

This may happen sooner than later especially when banking industry limit overdraft and credit facilities to Ah-Kun

And there are many, many other Tiong copycat shops trying to steal business from Luckin and Mixue etc.

Welcome to the infamous Tiong way of doing business:

Just in Clementi town:

Inconsistent, diluted and watery ice coffee at ah Kun is more expensive than freshly brew luckin coffee and ice drinks at Mixue

I have never eaten any product from mixua at all. Once I was tempted to try the ice cream and then check the ingredients of the ice cream and I give up. So processed like mad. It's like eating poison. Do u trust ah tiong processed food? I don't.

Since lurkin also from chinkland,I also banned it.

I tried it once. Not bad. As good as McD's ice-cream.

Luckin coffee too thin. The best tea I've tasted is Chagee's Jasmine Milk Tea - not too sweet, very fragrant.

Need some advice why usual suspects and shills never sustain their vaccine immunity with the latest mRNA jabs lololololol

i give myself a chance, twice or even thrice actually for Chagee, have to banned it too. prefer tea from Taiwan. something with Chinkland consumable products is really off.

Worst is Ya Kun, very expensive and serve a reduced amount of food.. stop patronising them few years already

I actually prefer home-brewed tea (using purple clay teapot) to tea from cafes.

For oolong teas I go for Taiwan Dongding Gaoshan and Fujian Yuyong Huangjingui. For Pu'er only Yunnan aged Pu'er. For green tea, top grade Hangzhou Longjing (Dragon Well). I generally steer clear of Jap matcha and black teas.

Ya Kun business model cannot work. Unless their model can scale up easily.
Else the costs will cause them to fail. Yakun cannot want to make
Being able to Scale is more important.

Ice coffee sold at $1.99

Ya-Kun will up lorry very very soon
