Popular lawyer Steven Lam charged with drink driving, careless driving and giving false information to police

He appears regularly on Channel 8 news to talk about different legal issues in Sinkieland. I also heard that he was supposed to stand as a Pappy candidate in one of the earlier elections but somehow didn't make it.

OMG, he has impressive credentials! I am very impressed. In fact, I feel intimidated by his credentials.

Will he get a free stay at Changi Resort? This is his second drink driving offence and falsifying information to the police. Will he be suspended from practice or even struck off the rolls?

Why can't he take a bus home? It's too risky drinking and driving

He's a repeat offender and a criminal, hence should be struck off the rolls. He has sullied the legal profession.

Wear waist coat in Dunlop Street where Ah Nehs walk up and down in sarongs. :o-o:

A lawyer of his calibre should be operating from a posh office in Raffles Place, not a shop house at Mayo Street. Who would go to a firm at Rochor area for a complex Merger and Acquisition deal?

Just look at the list of his credentials. Who's he trying to impress?

A lawyer is defined by the quality of his clientele, not his personal qualifications. Davinder, Shanmugam and the late Harry Elias didn't need post legal qualifications, just a LLB. LKY and David Marshall, too.

Your office location is a tell-tale sign of the kind of clients you are servicing. Merger & Acquisition ? In Jalan Besar ? Between 2 prata shops ?

You are sharp. Something doesn't add up.

If you are doing Merger and Acquisition, your team will be burning midnight oil in the office. Do you think you have the time to give free interview @ Mediacorp studio ? Do you see lawyers who sit on the Bench now doing pro bono work when they were in private practice ?

If a lawyer wants to impress, and if he doesn't have a big brand name like Draw a Nipple to fall back on, then the first thing that his potential clients will see is the office location, followed by the car that he drives. On comparison, putting on a waist coat in Jalan Besar is a cheaper PR stunt.

Not many Chinese will look good in a waist coat. You need to look like John Lone (the real one, not @sbfuncle) to be able to carry that look :

I was told by my lawyer friends that he is the only one in the entire legal profession who goes around wearing a waist coat in court. That's his trademark. Most English Barristers don't even wear that in court.

It's not uncommon for Chinese to want to look like AMDK. Dyeing the hair is one example. Giving yourself an English name is another.

However, if you really want to identify yourself with AMDK, the best way is to speak Queen's English like an AMDK.

I believe he has never been invited to MediaCorp English programs, but his Chinese is poor ... very poor. But since Mark Lee can be a newscaster, I suppose MediaCorp don't give a fuck these days.

There is a video by SAL which you can Google, which I will not post. In that video, you can listen and judge for yourself if he speaks like a AMDK.
