A) Although the World had changed, the FUNDEMENTALS of Employment remains the same, REGARDLESS if in private or public sector.
Employers have TWO basic rules:-
1. The boss is always right.
2. When in doubt, REFER ALWAYS to Rule number one.
B) Employers DO have such rights. It is their hard earned savings to create jobs for the many, TAKING much risks in a changed world. They do have the experiences to see thru hard times & bad times, & yet remained successful, to pay employees their salaries to put food on the table for themselves & loved ones.
i) NO mortal employer, let alone employee is perfect.
Mistakes DO happen but ULTIMATELY, it is often the employer that bears the brunt - lost of their precious LEGITIMATE life savings & even dignity, to their ownself & loved ones, thus their cautious approach towards any new ideas, even if from a genius or a newly but yet to realize REALITIES of adulthood NUS grad.
ii) What they seek for are employees whom are talents, to be loyal, to follow their orders to be able to expand their operations & create more wealth honestly, often for personal dreams of glory & achievements, for themselves, their loved ones & those that that care & trusted for including employees.
iii) Although at times, what employers do may seem to be going on wrong paths, an employee should not STAND out & scream that it is wrong, more so the new hires. If the employee is indeed a talent, he/she would be AWARE of the consequences of a direction.
a) speak out DIPL:OMATICALLY & CAREFULLY so as not to cause the boss to lose face or dignity. Doing so is only a one way ticket to be booted or retrenched when the time comes.
b) if such utterances are ignored, then respectfully quieten down & AWAIT when the pitfalls happen as it would only NATURALLY would, then thru better atmosphere of gatherings, dinners, just sound out the pitfalls DIPLOMATICALLY prior to such pitfalls when the opportunity arises at lunches, invited dinners or parties, golf games, etc, etc.
As the Employer is the boss, with his life savings at stake, stressed out by his own failed orders, would gradually realize his errors, after some time of quiet contemplation, would accept & even begin to trust the one whom had nicely, diplomatically, with no loss of face, to the pragmatic one whom had sow the seeds of success to him.........& there lays an employee's future, career & financial advancements....
