Chua Mui Hoong : I stayed with Straits Times for 30 years because it let me positively influence Singaporeans through my writings!

I even remained with the same employer, writing or editing for The Straits Times for over 30 years. What has kept me going is the ability to write on Singapore matters and positively influence Singaporeans through my writings.

Over the years, I considered alternatives. Could I write for a foreign news agency? But why, when the agents for change I want to influence are within Singapore? How about reporting on world news for a global news agency, some ask. While potentially intellectually engaging, my purpose is to serve Singapore, not the pursuit of journalism per se.

She flatters herself. When's a propaganda reporter ever a Journalist?

Makes the word journalist dirty...

Makes doing NS dirty also...

u are not serving then nation when working...

Doing NS is serving nation...

Please la... she's just like a bout of stubborn cancer. We tried everything - make fun of her, insult her, posted her ugly mug and critcize her useless talking points. And just like the persistent cancer, she remains. Some ppl are just shameless.

You are not a journalist. There are no real journalists in Sinkieland. Don't flattter yourself.

Don't forget. Singapore is a prostitute nation. As have been declared multiple times by your leaders, Singapore is willing to do anything for business (money).

For her long service the PAP regime should have given Miss Chua a nice new house.
