my educated guess is ... PHV Driver is semi retire. He does not need this income to survive. He is just driving for "fun". Same time can make some pocket money and "meet" others.

Looks like he had met his nemesis.

On the hindsight,
If you chose a profession, be professional. If you choose to be a security guard, be vigilant and do your job. You will expect abuse and other un rural behavior from time to time.

So remember, you chose the profession and not the other way round.
