Is it true that as one ages, the desire to buy branded goods decreases?

I am ashamed to say I am very brand conscious. I was brought up that way and have not been able to shake it off. Three Rifles, Crocodile, and the luxury brand Giordano. As for transport, I only go for the best brand, which is Flying Pigeon.

I also used to buy Giordano, Bossini.

I think the issue is some products are junk really but people pay for rhe brand name and status and all that jazz.

You ask those people in advertising and marketing they will tell you this branding stuff is bullshit.

I know this guy who was from Saatchi & Saatchi and did a lot of advertising work. He said is really BS to pay more for brand alone.

Beer is one example. All the beer really made the same lah. Just branding.

I used to buy the one sale cheap shoes during school days. Hi cut shoes were the fad. Air Jordans

I couldn't afford it and I agreed with my parents what a waste of money! So I bought these HEAD brand hi cut shoes. Unique. Few people had it.

I could never understand how wearing expensive over priced shoes that many other people were wearing makes it great? Wasnt it better to be unique and wear something no one else has and was a good deal?

It is just me. I rather be different than join the crowd. Which also is why I cannot stand medicine cos they want all doctors to follow the guidelines and do the same things. Sigh.

I am sure Canada has a thriving craft beer scene. Just like the US. Those are made in batches by micro breweries or pubs. They cost more, but the taste and experience make it worth the extra.

I also poor man. But I accept I cannot afford to waste money on luxury brands and goods.

Luxury the word says it all. It is not essential. Ie you have money to waste then you can go get lah.

Luxury got different degrees too. Like bubble tea is obviously a luxury but it is cheap enough nobody would in his right mind say it is a luxury branded item.

So anything that you say luxury branded item is probably a damn waste of money lah.
